Finally started working on Sky Garry, I'm using the promo art rather than the G1 toy as base for the kit, thats what I did with Grandus and the arm cover for Star Convoy. Grandus Thread: 3D Print: - Grandus conversion kit for Headmaster Soundwave POTP arm cover Thread: 3D Print: - POTP Prime/Selects Star Convoy arm cover. So far I got the 1st rough Sky Garry testshots for the new chest and head, they work but I found a few issues, mainly the head size, needs to be a bit bigger.
Thanks, the mold choice came to either the CW firetruck or TR OverLord, but these 2 panels help me decide, SkyGarry was shown as pretty much the same size as Prime.
Now printing some resin testshots, I made the chest star a separate piece to make the painting process easier :d

I have an oversized Inferno that I find would be perfect for such a conversion, so this is quite interesting.
That was my 3rd choice, but the mold is too big for Garry, based on the official pics and well, for my Grandus carrier ramps. btw, I got the resin test shots, these parts are ready, now to the arms
Doesn't have to be Hotspot, go with whoever you find cheaper, Onslaught, Hotspot or Inferno. Inferno could also be used for the Brave version
To be fair, Sky Garry is also shown to be as big as Star Convoy, who definitely is larger than regular Optimus Prime. I think they just didn't care about scaling for the artwork. But I think he works fine as this mold, size wise.
Bit of a self-centred ask - any chance of a faceplate version for those who want to make Death Garry Gun?
Shoulder model ready! I found a cheeky way to use both wing/ski designs :d Brave variants for Death Garry and Dag base are on the list, Death Garry will get a new head, chest and wing details and forearm guards with blasters. Dag base a new head, shoulder signals, ramps and blaster. Just gotta finish the Battlestars first
