Should these two duke it out, who would screw up first?

We're talking about Starscream from the Prime series? Starscream would destroy Sky Byte. Wouldn't a more interesting match up have been against Starscream from either the original cartoon or from Animated?

 

Animated Starscream would mop the floor with Sky-Byte. I figured that given the fact that Prime Starscream had been reduced to little more than a running gag by the end of the series, it'd be a far more fair fight.

 

Sky-Byte the flying shark getting into a fight with Prime Starscream...

I feel sorry for him, really. Poor guy started off great and then became Waspinator, with 90% less blowing up.

 

I also agree that Animated Starscream would probably win as well. But I considered Starscream to be much more of a source of comedy for Animated than he was for Prime.

I think a straight fight between these two would favour Sky-Byte; I'm not entirely sure on the RID size chart, but I think he is bigger than Starscream, and he came out of that giant space bomb reasonably unscathed which says lovely things for his durability.

Of course, if the fight comes down to Sky-Byte's favour, Starscream will no doubt attempt to employ his sweet-talk/pleas for mercy when he's on the losing side. If Sky-Byte pauses to listen, Screamer has a chance to get in a cheap shot and possibly turn the tide. If Sky-Byte refuses and keeps up the attack, Screamer will probably end up beaten to a pulp.

For the most part, my money's on Sky-Byte.

 

I don't know anything about the original Sky-Byte, but can Prime Scream beat ANY named character in a straight up fight?

 

Sky-Byte would probably screw up first, simply because he'd be the only one to try.

Well, no. It's who can screw up first.

If it was a fight, Sky-Byte would actually win. Prime Starscream is just about the only person he could fight and win against.

Against characters in his own series, he could probably beat Ratchet and Knock-Out in a straight fight, since the former isn't well-suited for fighting and the latter is kind of equally pathetic in combat, albeit better equipped to turn the tide thanks to that staff. Oh, and he can definitely defeat Vehicons, but then this empty bottle of Dr Pepper next to me could defeat Vehicons so whatever.

Basically, he could beat up medics who don't fight that much and generic troops that everyone can beat up. Not very impressive.

But then Starscream would screw up after him, so neither would really win.  

 

well he snuffed Cliffjumper even though it wasn't a fair fight. still gotta give him that he actually killed someone.

Honestly if Starscream and Sky-Byte fought it'd be a tie, they both lose.

Well, it'd be a reunion of TF voice actors as Steve Blum did voice Skybyte's Predacon cohort, Dark Scream, in RiD. As to a fight between the 2, I'd have to go with Skybyte as he did have Optimus on the ropes in an underwater fight and did guide the Predacons to victory against the Build Team in their debut. Starscream was a noteable adversary but not out of winning 1 on 1 battles.

The writers screwed up Starscream. Does that count?

 

We're talking about a hypothetical fight and who sucks more in combat, not how they're written.

 

Starscream. I understand Sky-Byte was apparently a screw-up, but was he smacked around nearly as much as Starscream for the sake of comedy?

...Then again I haven't watched RiD since I was like, seven. I guess I don't remember much about it.
