People bagging on the music choices of someone else is even more asinine than people bagging on movie choices.

I don't care if someone likes to hear Garth Brooks spinning records on a throne of skulls while Gwar shreds behind him as Snoop Dogg raps on Elton John's piano. ALL music is relevant to someone, and piss on anyone who tries to take that away from the person it's relevant to.

I can't see anyone being against this. Hell, dubstep is practically made out of transformers noises.

I wonder, was there dubstep before Bays first Transformers movie? Obviously Transformers started the trend of utilizing sounds like these in movies, but did Transformers actually partially help to create dubstep?

I wouldn't say actually it had a hand in creating it, but Transformers (as in, sound clips and references) is very popular among many EDM artists because the two just kinda...go together.

Dubstep can be traced to Jamaca in the early 1980s but didn't really take off until the early 2000s. And for those wondering, one of the reasons Skrillex gets so much hate is because he "commercialized" it, which was viewed both as selling out and brought a bunch of young fans into EDM. Plus dubstep used to refer to a pretty specific type of music, and one of the (really annoying, for some) effects Skrillex has had on the industry is the general public started labeling ALL EDM as dubstep. Skrillex was more tribal/progressive/glitch than dubstep.

It's the same attitude some extreme G1 fans have-"I hate how these days when I say Trasformers, people think of Bayverse and not G1." Exact same attitude from the extreme oldschool dubstep fans. There ya go :/

*And honestly, while I'd prefer anothe artist, Skrillex wouldn't be bad for the job. His music includes a wide range of effects and sounds, which is what matters for this project. Geez guys, it's not like First Of The Year will be playing while Optimus runs down the street.

Just because a EDM artist is involved in the sound design process doesn't mean Bangarang will be blasting in the background. He could easily have been asked to just manipulate some of the audio.

His work on Spring Breakers made me realize how much he's grown. He could pull off so many soft, underscored, emotional scenes-granted he had Cliff Martinez helping him, but still, he's not just the insane mish-mash of noises guy we all mistook him to be. And he's just working on the Dinobots noises here-he loves that growly animalistic sound. Consider me excited!

I'm not the biggest fan of his music, but he's a damn good producer, and if he's handling the Dinobot's noises, daaaymn son, they're gonna sound awesome.

That was brilliant and using that song in the final DOTM trailer was brilliant, too. I hope they do that again with AOE.
