When I saw G.I.EDDIE 's Back to the Future MP back in September I was blown away, unfortunately I haven't got the skill to pull off something that good as a custom I don't honestly think i could do the legend of the films I love justice.
When Gigawatt was announced in wasn't exactly blown away after seeing that custom not long before and thought can't see me getting one.

Me and my family were in Smyths toystore just after Christmas so the girls could spend there gift money and there was a single Gigawatt there in its classic G1 box and I had to admit in the flesh it didn't look bad. I went away then this last weekend to celebrate it 35th anniversary started watching through the movies again, it was the point where the delorean rolls out the trailer and smoke for the 1st time i was kicking myself for not getting it the other day.

Prices were stupid on Ebay and after watching a few reviews into why, but did find one seller I'd used before selling them £2 more than Smyths so decided if it was now or never so got him.

I'm also enjoying the comic crossover after reading issue 2 (I'll embrace anything bttf related I grew up watching those movies over and over again)
I thought Skilz that turns into Marty's Skateboard was a pretty cool concept and thought he would be a good mini companion to go with Gigawatt.

Monday I took as many screenshots of him as currently exist then sketch out some different angles of him to work off of.
Non transforming I'm afraid I did try to think of a way but he was pretty fiddly as it was, definitely the smallest custom I've ever done!

Tuesday was about looking at the mech suit and deciding what to remove and replace to try and make him work and keep posability, found a tiny little ball joint for his head and neck, then went to it with a mixture of melting, cutting and gluing.

Tonight the Skateboard parts were not secure enough so more gluing and regluing when that didn't work, then onto the sculpt work, super fiddly but happy with the result.
    When I paint him I'll be adding a few tweeks to Gigawatt as well as I think the details on his legs are a missed opportunity plus a few other bits. Below is the progress so far.... 20210114_002349.jpg 20210112_212805.jpg 20210112_212751.jpg 20210112_212725.jpg 20210112_225515.jpg 20210113_001109.jpg 20210112_230417.jpg 20210113_001153.jpg 20210113_004121.jpg 20210113_004108.jpg 20210113_004143.jpg 20210113_234047.jpg 20210113_234039.jpg 20210113_234558.jpg 20210113_211803.jpg 20210113_234032.jpg Screenshot_20210110-221750_Samsung Internet.jpg Screenshot_20210110-221733_Samsung Internet.jpg Screenshot_20210110-221814_Samsung Internet.jpg Screenshot_20210110-221808_Samsung Internet.jpg Screenshot_20210110-221942_Samsung Internet.jpg Screenshot_20210110-222037_Samsung Internet.jpg Screenshot_20210110-221947_Samsung Internet.jpg Screenshot_20210110-221658_Samsung Internet.jpg Screenshot_20210110-221726_Samsung Internet.jpg RCO009_w_1608745925.jpg

Sick! Some leg extension might be nice, but it is cool as it is. Base figure? Reminds me of one of those new Diaclone guys.

That's because it is. It's one of the little powered suits they have.

Yes I agree I wanted to extend his lower legs a bit but didn't want him any taller than he currently is next to Gigawatt. Yes I used one of the spare mech/diaclone suits as a base and probably will for Talkie Toaster when I do him. Completely melted off his knee caps and upper front legs to give more straight/ taller legs as they were constantly bent with no way to straighten before. Needs some floor polish on the joints now which have gone really loose since I started all the work.

Yeah that’s kind of what I was thinking with the height as well. Looks perfect scale-wise at the moment.

Skilz is now complete but I wasn't happy with Gigawatt standard after recently watching the Back to the future trilogy so added a few paint touches and now really pleased with him here they are together.
    I've seen people give Gigawatt an autobot decal bit not sure if I should? As in the comic hes a decepticon defector? Plus I feel it may ruin his vehicle mode I like having a bttf Delorean for display now just out of respect for the movies. 20210119_224529.jpg 20210119_224520.jpg 20210119_225004.jpg 20210119_222154.jpg 20210119_224735.jpg 20210119_222143.jpg 20210119_222320.jpg 20210119_222223.jpg 20210119_222608.jpg 20210119_222441.jpg 20210119_222817.jpg 20210119_222625.jpg 20210119_223042.jpg 20210119_223013.jpg 20210119_223105.jpg 20210119_223144.jpg 20210119_223122.jpg 20210119_223952.jpg 20210119_223209.jpg 20210119_224035.jpg 20210119_224008.jpg 20210119_224123.jpg 20210119_224102.jpg 20210119_222111.jpg 20210119_224200.jpg 20210119_222044.jpg 20210119_222131.jpg
