Assuming Newage will never touch these guys, I hope this company will treat them with more paint and equal detailing to their Metroplex.
I know boxart replicating the original Diaclone art is a pipedream, but I'm still dreaming.

First two are looking pretty good so far, hopefully we can get an idea of price and release schedule soon.

They are using the same basic tooling, makes sense to have the remold ready at the same time. But Blue Trainguy looks... Too blue? Perhaps it isn't finished yet.

So glad we're getting updates on these guys. They look good and hopefully they'll be about as tall as IF Liokaiser

i don't know maybe it is just me and the fact that i have no real connection to the train bots. or it could be that i am just jaded as fuck. but these just don't look good to me...honestly

they are really giving me cheap dollor store toy vibes. i understand and get scaled down simplified bot forms. but a tiny bit of pizazz could have done wonders for these brick looking figs.

it's 2024 we have the technology to do better than this especially at this scale.

they may not scream "premium" like NA does, but i feel they look better than the likes of zeta mini aerialbots, xtb fuzz or dx9-mini chromedome! i'm hoping they will be decent around maybe MFT level, which i think would be fine for me.

I second this, they have double jointed elbows, ankle tilts and hip skirts, so they're ahead of the curve already at this scale compared to a dollar store toy. It seems like the Legends game is very difficult to get into, and there's a 50/50 chance of success.

Zeta and XTB tried, and although their Superion is growing on me more and more, the individual bot modes pale in comparison to other combiners. XTB's attempt was laughed at before they even released their first offering.

Then you have MSS who have passed the bar and gone above and beyond in regards to every metric.

Seems like the market (Us) is pretty strict on expectations, which is a good thing. Legends figures aren't supposed to be "Dumbed down" figures. They're supposed to be smaller scaled figures with clever engineering that allows them to pack in so much into a smaller scale. We were right to reject DX9's Chromedome as a cashgrab, and XTB as well. These figures look good so far with what we have, and if they meet the minimum expectations then I'll be buying them for sure!

Not in the slightest. Legends were made as inexpensive, simplified, versions of larger toys. They were supposed to fun little fiddle-bots, quick to transform and enjoyable to play with.

Third-party Legends embraced this philosophy, giving us Iron Factory, War in Pocket, and the Palm Collection among others.

It was only when the global Sunbow pandemic reached Legends, combined with the influx of Masterpiece refugees, that unnecessarily complicated, fiddly, toys started being praised for their ‘engineering’ and posed once then put on a shelf.

Legends were toys first and foremost, designed to be played with, and as far as I’m concerned should still be. Hopefully these will join MSS in keeping that alive.

I can’t see a preorder for these on show z (who are typically premature and would be all over this by now)- are there any updates on ETA directly from SiYang?

Wait I can’t tell if you agree or disagree.

But either way yes I love my legends for being playable. A lot of complex legends toys still manage to accomplish this

I didn't make the connection that this project and the Metroplex was the same company. That guy turned out well and, while I have no emotional connection to them, I really like the old school 80s robot vibe this team has. Not going to jump on a preorder, but I'm keeping this set on my radar.

The ferroequinologist in me feels compelled to point out that electric trains don't make any sort of a choo-choo noise.

Their Metroplex has a fair price for a figure its size...I hope this Trainbots will also be cheaper than, say, Magic Square combiners.
