I'm wondering which company this is? I'm also very curious about the quality of their products? Anyone know about them (even rumors) of who this really is?

Actually I think Moon Studios started doing their bots prior to Takara didn't they?

Good. There's not enough trains to match the planes and automobiles.

I don't know when things started behind the scenes, but Zeta/Moon Studios first announced theirs March 2019. After that there was a rumored ToyWorld one in June 2019 that never went anywhere. The first tease of Takara was October 2019 (I have no idea how to find when someone started a real rumor from a leak vs wishful thinking from some people). It was meant to get a formal announcement at some event running from December 2019 through March 2020, but it was apparently later in the event and that got cancelled due to Covid. All we got was a poster with a silhouette and the G1 toys on display. This legends set is the first one announced since Takara in 2019.

I don't collect Legends scale figures (unless they scale with CHUG/Generations figures) but if this Raiden gets upscaled to Combiner Wars gestalt height, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Takara is already making the Chug Size Raiden and calling it MP. But it's chug.

I was wondering about that. How should these bots and combined mode scale with the others?

It's been a while since I compared sizes. I am not getting it, but I think Takara is slightly taller than Ferral Rex in combined mode.

To be more accurate, they’re calling them MPG. They’re of a design sophistication and engineering/production quality of Masterpiece, but closer to CHUG in scale. They’re actually HO scale so that the trains are the same size as the most popular model train sets.

If Takara makes any more combiners under the MP Gattai sub-line, it will be interesting to see how they’ll be scaled, because they won’t be trains.

Starting with a desert camo (obviously unpainted now) is an interesting choice.

    No it isn't.

The design style doesn't fit, nor does anything except the combined mode height. The individuals are all faaaaar too big.

The MPG Trainbots are actually 1:87 scale. Most Legends figures tend to be around 1:60 scale, so that actually makes them Legends scale.

Do you have any idea how large trains are? In train mode, Shouki would be longer then ER Optimus at Generations scale. The Trainbots are either going to have huge robot modes, or they will turn into the most comically undersized trains, ever.

Siege Astrotrain turns into a 1:87 scale locomotive, he scales with the MPG bots. Thats the best you are gonna get. A deluxs Trainbot wouldn’t even turn into a train, there wouldn’t be enough mass and in order to be proportionate, because bullet trains are long and thin, the train would be no taller then Core Optimus in truck mode.
