Here is the WIP thread for Sixpointsinspace's Thuggers 3.0 created by FakeBusker83. They were made in the Frosted Ultra Detail. I'm using Tamiya Acrylics and sealing them using Future floor polish. Great Stuff! So here is where I started. Doing Rumble first. He's drying with a cote of Future on there. Tomorrow I start Frenzy.
Woot. So glad you are helping me out with the paint on them. They look great so far. Can't wait to see how they turn out and get them behind the camera for a video update
Here's some pics of Rumble along with my Frenzy and Rumble. And another project can be seen with the other Frenzy.
Those look fantastic man. Question for you though. I'm using the same brand paints and sealer and I've had stripping issues. Are you having any? For an example I'll post a pic I took. Look at Fren-Rumb... the red one's knee. You can see the White Strong Flexible Polished material I printed them in.
Use Future floor polish but honestly your still going to get some paint rub. I've never dyed, but I'm thinking if I get some more of these doing that with just those small parts. Also get some super fine sandpaper sticks and just give them a nice sand down and then take a tooth brush with some warm water and dish detergent, you'll get rid of that thumb print look to them.
Ha, I expected someone to mention that thumb print. That print actually is on the figure itself. It arrived that way, so it's not my thumb print on the paint. But I think I like it. It adds character to it. Plus outside of close up shots you don't see it... I did use Future as well. I also consider sanding them down but was concerned about how the material would take to it. I didn't want to chip off a 1/4 of a ball joint because I tried to sand it. So I guess what I should have done was sand it and maybe use thinner coats of paint even though I tried to use thin ones already. But I shouldn't turn this thread into a "why do I suck?" thread. Peagis, you've done fine work and should take a bow.
There are so many details you miss when they aren't painted like this. Can't say enough how great a job you are doing. These are so small I can't imagine the steady hand you must have. Love the ribs details. The gold/copper really pops.
