I'd suggest 6 Billion Dollar Man, but Cerberus were able to bring back Commander Shepard for a third of that so no idea why this nobody would cost so much.

In some ways, Marky Mark actually seems like a pretty accurate modern day equivalent to Lee Majors, so I could definitely see this.

I agree it needs a title change, though. Gordon's "Six Billion" idea is a pretty good call. Or they could just call it 'Cyborg,' which was the title of the novel the old tv show was adapted from in the first place. And the original Steve Austin of the novel became kind of a cold-blooded government assassin, rather than the super-heroic nice guy we got in the tv show. So I wouldn't be surprised if they went a lot darker in a new movie adaptation.

Why hasn't this happened yet? It's definitely a TV show that could work as a movie. Just imagine the teaser trailer. They show him on an operating table with a voice over basically like the TV show's. When the narrator says "we can rebuild him," his eye will open and it will cut to the title.

I think it will be retitle as Bionic Man in order to be relevant.

I can easily see that happening, since Dynamite has also called their comic-book adaptation of the show "The Bionic Man".

Well the new Robocop cost $2.3 Billion Dollars, so why not the 6 billion dollar man - IE all his tech is organically based - ie he doesn't look like a cyborg, but a normal person.

It would be amazing if this movies budget was six million dollars.

It'll probably be over a 100 million or something.

    More Marky Mark. Yes Please!

I'm surprised this is even being considered by Hollywood after the Bionic Woman debacle.

Exactly. It's automatically going to suck if that's not included.

I don't have a problem with the title. Electronics are a lot cheaper than they used to be. just 15 years ago, you'd pay a dollar or more a megabyte for RAM sticks.

My big concern is that TV to movie reboots are usually (always?) so badly mishandled. Most of the time, they dumb things down into stupid attempts at comedies. The other end of the spectrum is to shift it into a super-drama, filled with nothing but unlikeable characters; AKA: The BSG effect.

It's like Hollywood has forgotten they can play these things straight, and still have likeable characters.

I thought Bionic Woman was just one of those flash in the pan reboots that didn't catch on. What debacle was involved?

It didn't catch on because it was terrible. The episode I saw anyway.

The Kevin Smith script for this became the Bionic Man comic. You can find the first trade in stores. No doubt they are changing things, but it can give you an idea the direction they are going in.
