Not sure that it is. Shared engineering definitely but if it’s a retool it is a heavy retool.

People are reporting in the Walmart thread that Wave 2 is starting to show up.

FYI those 3 were their own assortment
They do not count toward standard legacy deluxe

I really wish we could just go back to yearly assortments. This wave shit is for the birds. Just put out a case with 16 different deluxes on Jan 1st and keep restocking in until Dec 31. No more shortpacked items, no more artificial scarcity, no more of this ‘unless you’re there the hour they put the case out you’re not getting them’ shit.

It sucks that anything past wave 1 is a ‘preorder or accept paying double retail on the aftermarket’. Waves is primarily to blame for that.

True, but I think Walmart just sees it as we have Transformers on the shelf. It's almost like the old Life cereal commercial "Orange Juice, orange soda... what's the difference?"

Or give us solid cases of each figure at retail.

I do have to admit it is nice at the end of the year when you can pick up the wave 1, 2 and sometimes wave 3 figures you skipped for 50+% off.

Yeah I think they just see figures on the shelf and leave it

Nah those BW repaints DEFINITELY had to have impacted the delay of wave 2 and wave 3 in Walmart. Those things cluttered the aisles to an insane degree. Like I feel like they made WAY to much of them, especially considering how little of a market there is for them

I doubt that's the most efficient way for them to produce the amount of figures they need to produce. I would think they run X molds at a time and then run the next batch after the first batch is complete. I also don't think stores like Walmart and Target want to devote 4x the shelf display space for the entire Transformers line.
