Not sure how Hasbro plans on selling Transformers when they don't seem to have a cohesive distribution strategy. I haven't seen anything outside of Wave 1 at Walmart and Target seems to have empty shelves or just shelf warmers when I go there. If Walmart isn't going to stock Dead End, then I'm not looking forward to finding him. WTF?
thank god I grabbed Breakdown from Amazon before he went out. Overpayed for Dead End, but am satisfied with him. but yeah, he's gone for his retail cost if you missed him on Amazon or alternatives.
That doesn't make a lot of sense unless Hasbro produced a lot less of Dead End than Motormaster and Dragstrip.
Distribution is awful. I have had wildrider, dead end, and breakdown pre-ordered in bbts from day 1 and nothing has happened with any of them. Walmart just put out some more dragstrips so I guess everyone can just make a menasor out of 4 of them lol
You just know it’ll start showing up at Ollie’s for $8 as soon as I pay $25 at BBTS. My only consolation will be that the closest Ollie’s is too freaking far anyway.
Isn't the just the usual January toy drought? The shelves are always lacking this time of year. Literally the only thing of interest I've found in the last few weeks was a single Authentics Wheeljack at Big Lots. It was also my only TF purchase so far this year ... (That and a shoulder clip set off Shapeways to fix my only major complaint about CW Menasor.) It might be too late for Dead End, but I wouldn't panic over distribution right at this moment. Selection is always the pits this time of year.
I wish I had an Ollies near by as well. Closest one is over an hour drive away. We have a Ross and TJ Maxx but neither stock toys very well even around Christmas. I wouldn't feel bad about paying full price because while he may show up at Ollies, he could very well not show up there as well. At least getting it at BBTS would give you peace of mind instead of a what if scenario that may or may not happen. I never saw Dead End at the local Wal-Marts either. Distribution is so wishy washy my TF ordering is exclusively online at this point and if I see something I think I might want, I go ahead and pre-order as soon as it goes up. At least at most places I can cancel if I change my mind and it's easier than trying to find a pre-order later on in case it pre sells out everywhere.
which is weird! In general I think the later waves of Legacy were shafted, the general later half of 2022 figures felt strangely.. understocked in stores. My Targets a barren wasteland. I think they're prepping for a massive stock boost, but... I'm not getting my hopes up.
I preordered him from movies unlimited. I saw him twice on Amazon warehouse for slightly lower than retail but he gets gone fast. Not sure why he's so rare. Suggest you keep refreshing the listing on Amazon warehouse. Good luck!
I've seen Dead-end a few times in store actually and someone in my state saw a few Breakdowns. These sightings were at Target btw. I also saw Wildrider only one the one time I picked him up. As I've yet to see any other waves besides Dragstrip at Walmart as well
That may be a better option than Ebay but with shipping running $20-$30 it's a tough pill to swallow.
I would never rely on brick and mortar these days. All four Stunticon limbs are available at EE at regular price and Motormaster is available on Amazon.com for a slightly inflated price using Amazon UK stock. Get them now or go without. They’re all available to get right now.
Isn't it usually Wave 4 that has a much more limited distribution? I don't remember ever having issues finding Wave 2 or 3 before. I'm stubborn. I like to pick them up at a physical store so I can spot any obvious QC issues or bad paint jobs.
