Thank YOU, sir, like the maestro himself, Mr. Bay, for being a LEGEND as always.

And yes, I share his view of Bay being up there with Spielberg, Oliver Stone and Kenneth Branagh. Oh, and this is just coming from me, Joe Carnahan, Matthew Vaughn and Ridley Scott.

Until then, I will say that it's pretty clear Bay isn't exactly a horrible guy, and knows how to direct a film. The people he works with tend to get along with him, at least as far as we see (baring Megan Fox). It's just a pity the stories he uses are always the most mindless, pandering rubbish, but I honestly do respect his skills as director.

 

It's nice, but we all know Bay is a professional and brings his A-game to directing. Hopkins is enthusiastic, but he's just as professional and wouldn't say anything that would damage the film he's working on.

I'm just waiting for a trailer.

 

I e got respect for them all as people also professionally it can't be easy for them so respect on that too, Megan foxes thing was played up by the media but it was more of a distancing manoeuvre than a falling out or not getting along, she said one comment that was a bit raw- nothing more than that. Anyway she ended up in bays turtles so definitely wasn't as bad as some would say.

 

His stories are ALWAYS full of deep meaning! Problem is in you, dude, you just aren't ready to catch it. If you'll take film more serious, forget about stereotypes and sincerely said yourself what do you think (yeah it may be difficult) you'll understand me

 

Eh, Bay makes the movies he makes, he makes them to the highest standard he can, and he knows his audience. They're not going to teach you anything, win Oscars for content, or even change the world, but that's ok, because that's not what he's aiming for. He's aiming to entertain for a couple of hours, and that's literally all. Can't fault the guy for that.

This feels like when someone compliments you and you feel compelled to give a compliment back, but there isn't anything major to say, so you compliment their zany socks.

 

I don't think there's anything wrong with what Hopkins has said.

 

That about sums it up perfectly. Honestly feels like damage control more than anything. I'd rather see a trailer, and judge the film by content as opposed to dealing with promotional pandering. Promotional pandering doesn't really influence or suggest one way or another about a person's character. It's all typical Hollywood image control.
Doesn't mean anything at all.

Other factors will determine stuff later. Right now, stop worrying about image pandering and focusing on making sure it's a good movie!

isnt that what movies are made for entertain people for few hours movies are not shakespear plays if thats what people expect from movies to be shaekspear plays then they should read book, compare transfromers bay movies to cartoon series kids dont nit pick be wanna be non paid critics they watch what they want to watch as entertainment value tv and movie compare transformers to jaws, jhon wayne movies, bruce lee, charlie chaplin, three stooges, i love lucy, i dream of jeanie, home improvement, last man standing with tim allen there not oscar emmy worthy but people like shows as entertainment that is all movies are entertainment pourpose horro, comedy, drama, true life story, documaenty, scifi, comic book

 

The way i look at it is that Bay is TECHNICALLY good at his job. The film school type stuff. He finds good angles. Keeps a tone/pace that's made for action movies. Good use of color, explosions, etc.... though he goes overboard with the fire. He knows visual arts.

But he has no mind for story. Hes all style and no substance I feel like you would need to pair him with another director for a real masterpiece. Have the other person work the actors and smooth out the plot and Bay does the action and visuals. He has an eye for that stuff and does it better than most in a fast, cost effective (for what it is) way.

 

Love for the Bay and his BAYHEM!  

 

Sure, they have meaning. Doesn't mean the meaning isn't horrible. Also doesn't mean story structure or the characters are any good. But those points I make also don't mean Bay doesn't have strengths as a director, nor does it mean he's a terrible person.
