I might guess the 45% was so Fox would be seen as having something to give away. The cast would have no trouble getting work elsewhere, but i doubt at anything close to what Fox would pay them, even with the pay cut.
Yeah, it's standard Fox procedure. They did the same for Futurama when the voice actors were negotiating their salaries. Fox makes big public declarations of gloom and doom to manipulate people - it's what they do best.
You know I gonna sing that song all day today to celebrate the cast accepting and still keeping the Simpsons alive.
I think soon it should be time to end the show. I actually would find them ending with Season 25 to be a nice number (would make the boxset of all seasons easier to manage). Personally, I stopped watching around 2001-2002. The series really seemed to change once Brad Bird left as consultant.
^ Unless you go by the episode Lisa's Wedding (set last year), in which case Bart should be 26, Lisa should be 24, Maggie should be 16...and England should have saved our asses in World War III.
It always used to bother me when seemingly every flashback in the show created a continuity error when compared to another. And then there's also Nelson's dad which is a whole world of inconsistencies. However, I've long since accepted that the show's comedy comes before it's continuity by a long shot; same deal with Futurama though not nearly as wide a gap there.
I've always thought the Simpsons are over rated. Sure its funny sometimes but I dont understand its popularity. So basicly, I couldn't care less.
With 2 more seasons, I hoped for one more appearance of Sideshow Bob. Even my sister hopes for another appearance from Herbert Powl.
I know it's impossible and even kind of tasteless, but I'd love to see Troy McClure at least one more time. I still miss Phil.
I'd rather not. Retiring Troy and Lionel were a tribute to Phil. He was those charecter life and blood. Even though Billy West does do a good impersanation. I'd rather not. Phil. You were so awesome, you made Arnold mad about his cookies.
