I'll still take a bad Simpsons episode over 80% of what's on the tube these days.

If they cancel the Simpsons what will Fox put in it's place? I rally hate the Idea of another Seth MacFarlane show like The Quagmire Show? I did like Bob's Burgers but Fox hasn't had any really good shows on Sunday since they canceled Futurama the first time. Fox Sundays needs more diversity than 3 MacFarlane shows and The Simpsons, I think if they actually cancel the show there will be a mad dash of new replacements shows. But there will never be another Simpson type of show.

Mostly, I just want it to outlive Family Guy.

Really? Simpsons cancelled? Sorry but was about damn time. XD The show has been boring and annoying for some years already. :S But to be honest I already say good bye to the franchise time ago. :S

    Pretty much.

Heck, I'd sooner see the show die while it's still good than simply keep going for the sake of keeping it alive when it's not something that'll vanish anyway. Then if/when the ideas & motivation resurface, it can be renewed for the right reasons.

I still watch new episodes in the hope of something funny...ocassionally they deliver, although not with the same frequency as before.

That said, even in 'the good old days' there were a few misses.

You don't want to see his BRAND NEW SHOWS: Family Dad or American Guy?

I'll take Simpson's over the crap people claim is "brilliant" television any day. There was a lull where it was pretty bad, but since Al Jean came back it has been MUCH better. Gettin a little tired of the "lol who still watches that show F4990ts??!?!!?" b.s.

Considering these voice actors make MILLIONS of dollars to do the episodes of the Simpsons, I feel no remorse for them and stand in Fox's corner on this one. The funny part is this is how misleading the media is in trying to get people against the Fox broadcasting network.

Simpsons merchandise still sells like crazy. The VA's want to take a 30% pay cut in exchange for some merchandise royalties? There's more money made in the merchandise than anything ... they'd actually get a RAISE with their 30% cut and the cut they want from merchandise.

Cancel the show. I was under the impression no one watched those crappy cartoons in the first place anymore.

Meh, I'm not all that surprised. It would be pretty sad to see it go after being such a phenomenon but I won't be too broken up about it.

Well, yeah that's probably about right, but the thing is 90% of TV isn't worth watching in the first place and I have no interest in. And I hardly have the time to be watching more than 1% of what's on TV anyway.

There was a period in the nineties when I watched the show almost religiously, but they've done so much since then to taint those memories. At this point it's probably been a bad show longer than it was a good show.

Groening doesn't even have anything to do with the series anymore. I think he left the team a while ago to work on Futurama.

    Oh.

    Well then, let me rephrase.

Took Fox long enough to finally end this.

    Better?

McFarlane and company are supposedly working on a Flintstones reboot/remake, aren't they? If so, that seems a likely candidate. Fox has also been trying to find another show for that block for a long time now, with Allen Gregory and the upcoming Napoleon Dynamite cartoons being the most recent examples.

The media being misleading to get people against a major corporation? That's unpossible!

And that's unexpected. Not that Simpsons really has enough continuity to require much of a 'finale', but hopefully if this is the case, they'll pull out all the stops for a good final season.

"Eternal Moonshine of the Simpson Mind" would have made for a great series finale. Hopefully they can do something similar, but even better.
