Is there a list of 3P releases with a score for transformation complexity?

I would say the low end would be Maketoys Striker Manus and the upper end would be Badcube panel-formers.

Of course, those based on real cars would have much more complex transformations than Cybertronian vehicles.

I would like to know what MP-scale figures have easy transformations. I am just assuming that the Dinobots, and all those non-real vehicle G1 Season 3 characters fit the bill.

MT Infernal is pretty darn easy to transform.

I doubt that is a distinction you can make:
X-Transbots Eligos is easily as bothersome as Wardog for example.
Fansproject Sigma L is pretty easy though.
I think it depends wether the original charactermodel was created from the toymodel wich would enable an easier transformation as opposed to charactermodels that where drawn with total disregard of what the original toy looked like.

Grassor. Very easy/intuituve but it didn't need to be anything more.

I just realised how simple and durable MP-33 Inferno is.

It really does feel like the 80s toys with tons of ratchets while looking modern as well.

I will just wait for the KO then.

How is Striker Manus low end? he has more transformation to him than classics optimus prime did.

Also lol score list hahaha. Complexity isn't some tick box on a list of requirements people catalogue for toys geez no one in the community is that ocd.

There are so many 3P figures out now that it would be really difficult to rank them all.

    As a General Rule:

DX9 and Iron Factory Legends will be the easiest.

    CHUG:
MMC is usually fairly simple in the Reformatted line -Kaon is a bit more complex tho and the Fembots and Vos are really finicky.
    Toyworld is relatively simple.
    Planet X is fairly moderate.
Fansprojects and Maketoys tend to be more complex with a action figure result.
Warbotron/Gravity Builder/Transmission are generally more complex with the use of lots of panels.
Perfect Effect appears to be more inticate in their transformations.

    3MP:
ToyWorld is usually on the basic side of things.
FansToys and Giga are fairly intuitive and simple.
DX9 MP are usually pretty moderate.
MakeToys arent super involved but are fairly complex.
Ocular Max is usually more complex.
Bad Cube and XTransbots/KFC are usually the most complex or frustrating due to clearances.

Takara often seems to be the most fun and intuitive designs.

Keep in mind that this is in very general terms of which I have had no hands on experience with many of them. The individual character has a big influence on the design of course.

The older I get the more I appreciate simple but elegant transformations. Transformations that require a masters degree in engineering can put me off a figure these days.

I am pretty much sure there is a large amount of people that have that requirement in their check list :)

The time I have been in these forums have teach me that OCD is severe in some few people :(

If the route from A to B is not too bad and A and B look awsome, then is fine by me! But I understand your point. The more complicated a transformation is, the more prone to failure

Nah I meant someone literally making a comprehensive list of assessment for eeeeevery 3p release ever. That would be insane. Who would do that.

Obviously tonnes of factors determine a persons purchase decision. I never really care about complexity myself, very complex, very basic. Its all the same to me.

I enjoy simple and intuitive, but not to the point where it makes any mode look bad or restricts articulation.
What i do despise are panel and hingeformers: Eligos is so gorgeous but his transformation is so depressing.

Any products that will be made by Fans Hobby seems to be REALLY very simple.

From their video review, MB-01 ArchEnemy (Nemesis Prime / RID Sscourge, their first product that recently released, seems like very good quality construction / nice premium look, and very simplistic transformation (maybe a bit too much). Look into them though, there might be a future product that they make that you will like.

The issue isn't being ocd enough to compile it. In fact, there probably are a few who would. The issue is complexity is subjective.

True. Also, complexity decreases over time as you get more adept at transforming the figure. I certainly don't consider ROTF Leader Class Optimus Prime's transformation "complex" anymore after transforming it for so long.

That's funny, for classics I'd say Toyworld is among the more complex, certainly much more so than FP, Warbo and MMC. Of course it varies by character or subline or whatever.

Pretty much this. The only thing you could really do is have a list of characters and how many "steps" there are to get each transformed. But even that involves a little subjectivity. Not worth the conflicts that would undoubtedly ensue.

Again, I dont have hands on experience on most of the figures. The TW Headmasters, Dinos and the feet Throttlebots seemed fairly simple. Their Astrotrain I assume was more complex. Just my perception.
