Here is a simple mod to get rid of the samurai hip kibble on your seekers without altering them in a way as to ruin their value, and doesnt require surgery. you will need med hobby base clear double ball joints, and a peice of either fishtank air tubing or gas r/c car fuel line (cut to 1/4 - 1/2 inch) the tail fins will actually lock under the central back plate. see images:
I don't know why so many people have a problem with the side wings things. I actually like them now and I thought it was a nice touch that the Alternity harks back to it. Randy
I quite like it, myself. Much like the OP said - they have a kind of samurai vibe, which I think is quite fitting for Japanese robots
im glad you like it with the samurai legs, but for a masterpiece it shouldnt have them, they never did in the cartoon. thats what this line is about, being G1 accurate as possible. and the prototype had the proper look, but they cheaped out on us.
Well, that and the fact that the ball-joints on his hips actually physically impede the articulation of his hips. Otherwise, I don't really mind the "samurai" style of the hip kibble, but I do find it's an odd choice when everything else is so close to G1 accuracy. Plus, it does just tend to make the design a little fussier to transform, and messier visually as well. I'm not sure if they "cheaped" on us... it probably cost them MORE to build it with that extra set of joints on the hips. But I agree... the prototype image looked perfect, and then for whatever reason, they decided to mess with it. Meh. zmog
