If these turn out to be decent representations of the vehicles in their own right, and don't have huge faction symbols on the wheels like the RID ones they made, then they might be worth picking up.
Probably just Hotwheels-type vehicles like the RPMs back in the day. I'm cool with that. Not my thing and I won't buy it, but I'm still cool with it.

I'm feeling more and more certain that "Saturn" is Barricade. I'll be surprised if it turns out to be another character like Drift, Megatron or Jazz. But for me, all signs point to the fact that it's Barricade.

Indeed, indeed. When I wrote the news post I placed a small note stating that the news post image is 2016 Simba Smoby RID Optimus. I had to use a product image for the news post, but the 2017 images are not issued to the press yet. We'll only see 2017 products after January 24th.
I got the RID ones I think they were reduced to £1.24 - I was tempted by the boxed set too as it has a nice red alert deco sideswipe in it - they are by far the most animation accurate deco vehicle modes i've seen the Bumblebee is lovely the only "toy Car" bee I've seen that is better is the Tomica one.
