This is a beast machines silverbolt. I am going for a more screen accurate version since the one we got was very crappy. This is unfinished so I hope once it gets painted it will look much better. I've seen this done before so I thought I'd take a crack at it. I took a nightslash cheetor and the crappy silverbolt we got from hasbo and started hacking them up. The wings I got are from a marvels archangel. I cut them in half and made a plastic pin so the wings could spread out and fold in just like a real bird. Hope you like where I'm going with this, as I've been working on this for a long time and hope to update this once painted. Thanks for looking and any advice would be appreciated.
That is phenomenal! Really creative use of the various figures' parts. Cheetor's body works surprisingly well for him. Where are the tail feathers from? They look familiar. You could say the Silverbolt head is almost too small, but it's not so small that it ruins it. I'm really looking forward to seeing the finished custom. Excellent work.
Never thought I'd get to see a decent toy of this version of Silverbolt. I was wrong! This is really nice so far.
the tail feathers are from beast wars tigerhawk (the black version). Yeah I know the head looks small. That's my only draw back. Don't really know what to do about that but, keeping it transformable, it fits in the tight space. If I could only find a simillar head. Anyway, thanks for the kind words
Thats gorgeous! Looking forward to the finished custom! IMO Silverbolt had the worst representation in the BM toys. Alongside poor nightscream, of course.
The Beast Machines figures were the worst they every put out. I also hated the tiny Silverbolt we got. You're doing a great job on this.
Huh. That came out pretty well aside from the robot head. Proportions look good otherwise. Legs work good for beast mode. The head looks pretty terrible. Maybe see if there's an up-scale bootleg, or try your hand at sculpting one from scratch. The head wasn't very good to begin with, if I recall. If the cavity it fits in is too small, either carve it out larger assuming you can do it without making a mess of either mode, or maybe look at modifying it with like hinges. or {while I'm loathe to suggest this} if that's way too difficult, part-form. I really hate part-forming, but it would be better in this case. That block on the back of the bird mode also looks odd. Does it need to stick up like that? Man, I don't even remember if that's show-accurate, and there's so few pictures online. Unrelated to the custom itself, it would really help if you figured out how to focus the camera on the object instead of the background. I don't know if regular Tigerhawk is less valuable, but I thought last time I checked Universe Razorclaw was pretty expensive. It's too bad more customizers don't recast parts, but I guess even though it's not that difficult, by the time you figure out how to do that you're probably not bothering to kitbash aside from salvaging joints. Sorry. I feel like what I said was mostly negative.
Silverbolt Head First off I wann say: AWESOME!!!! Love the look you've given him. He is my favorite Beast Wars/ Machines character ( Quite honstly, its how I met the woman i fell head over heels for...chatroom names, she is Blackarachnia, I am Silverbolt, rest is history) You are quite talented, might I suggest an altered Animated Swoop head? Might be a little more puportionate ( Did I spell that right?) though you did say it is tight already....well, if anyone can pull it off, it'll be you. Good Luck! can't wait for painted updates!!!
Thanks man! BTW I've been looking at the animated swoop head. I just might be able to pull it off. Love the Beast wars. I know beast machines is controversal but, had to watch it.
