Doesn't mean Yamaoka couldn't be back for the new game
...he did two songs for Book of Memories...and that game was made after he left Konami.

Pretty sure he is ok with still working on Silent Hill if he's asked to!

It's been a while since I've kept tabs on silent hill. Parts 1-3 are classic. The Room & Origins fell flat for me. And because of those 2 duds, I skipped the ps3 sh games. But this new one has my interest. This looks like it has serious potential to revitalize the series.

That's a shame. Hope they can tempt him back. This game LOOKS great, let's get it sounding great also.

I'm still going to have to remain skeptical since there hasn't been a good Silent Hill since the third game. Plus, for all we know, there could be a $30 demo that come out to act as a prologue chapter to the game.

Except they already released a free teaser that's probably the best experience in gaming I've had all year...

I'd actually rather they did not have Pyramid Head in here. He was great in the first movie and in the second game, but he has had his time to shine.

I don't even have a PS4 yet but just watching the footage from the PT was still scary. I'm already bad enough with games like Dead Space so I'm not sure if I'd be able to take this. For me, paranormal is a lot scarier than just something physical because it's something you really don't even have a chance of fighting against. If nothing else I'd definitely watch a full playthrough of the whole game though.

    I like you. :)

The Room was just bizarre. I know it didn't start life as a SH game, and that came through in the final product. I liked some of what they were doing in that game, but the whole feel and spirit of it didn't say "Silent Hill" to me.

Origins was a nice return to form in the gameplay department and there were some things I liked about it all. But as an origin story it didn't add anything that we didn't already know. And it turned Lisa the friendly ghost nurse into a ditzy idiot with dreams of "bein' a star, suga!" When did she pick up the accent?

Never played Downpour or Homecoming. By that point I was convinced that if the original team wasn't making it, then no one was going to get it right. Might have to give them a look anyway if only because they are SH games.

I do love Pyramid Head as a dark mirror for James specifically. But there's no denying that he's become the face of the franchise, surpassing Alessis and any other antagonist. I used to be pretty annoyed that he kept showing up, because I love the idea that under that helmet is James Sunderland. But I'm over that now.

MAN!! This new game has rekindled my love for this series! I feel like I need to bust out the original or 2 or 3 and play through them now!

Homecoming's biggest issue is that it was just flat out boring and felt more like Resident Evil 4 set in a world called Silent Hill. Downpour is just a train wreck all of the way through though. And Shattered Memories could have been a good game had it not been called Silent Hill. I mean, Silent Hill is supposed to be a hellish world of rust and blood, NOT of ice and snow.

that's funny because the PT Trailer plays out a lot like The Room.

The first person elements of the Room were creepy. I liked those parts. It was more to do with some of the story elements & all that. Some of the monsters didn't feel like they belonged in a SH game.
