I recently got one of the, "signature pictures must be no more than 500x300 pixels and be under 40kb" messages from you guys..

I checked my image, downloaded it from my photo host, checked it with paint, and reuploaded it..

    The information says: 500×223 pixels – 40KB

When I view it in ANY other way (such as direct link below) or whatever it's the proper size, but when it goes in my signature or anywhere on tfw it appears to be slightly larger.. I have no idea why.. I use the img tags.. am I doing something wrong? Notably I have returned my Signature, and hope that should this still be some form of an issue isn't taken as me ignoring what you guys are saying.

Notably the direct link to the sig sample image size noted is bigger in the forum software than a direct link too:

If not and there's nothing wrong.. I don't understand why my signature pic(which hasn't changed, only removed checked and reuploaded) was singled out and removed..

Right now it says 39.65 KB, so it's within the limits.

Right.. It should have said that yesterday too, and since I originally uploaded it in 2011.. I was very careful on sizing it to be within the rules..
So I'm not sure why I got pegged as doing something wrong, and want to make sure that nobody thinks I've disregarded what's been told to me.

You have to be careful with who you choose to host your images with. Some hosts add to an images file size for one reason or another. so while it may look fine on your PC, once you upload it, that could change. when it was removed, your signature read as 44.81 KB, which is over the limit.

    Hrm...
I'm really confused though as to what happened.. picasa (google's image host) is the one hosting the image.. The one in my signature is the same one that was on there previously..
Unless my reupload (after checking it on the computer) changed the file size..
But I don't know why that would happen considering it was the same service uploaded in the same place.

Anyway.. So long as it's good now I won't worry about it I guess.
