Edit: thanks for moving it! Oh, and thanks for helping clean it up. It’s so hard to do it on mobile.

Hope you like this comparison. I have more pictures if you want to see em. It’s a cool figure. Liking it so far. It has some weight and seems sturdy as heck! Which I cannot say the same about someone else’s janky leader class legs.

    Initial thoughts:

The helmet’s yellow is hand painted/airbrushed like the dirt smudges, so each copy has their own unique version.

ER has a better package, two extra retainers for his wings, and much better artwork and instruction artwork. If it was between S and ER, and I can only get one, get ER.

Both launch pads do not lay flat.

Also, I can murder out an Astrotrain with extra weapons!

If you want pics, ask them here. I’ll do my best to keep S on the left and ER on the right

This will be great for folks that missed out on him. Glad to see they’re the same figure pretty much.

Sorry, it’s the same size. The angle I placed it at looks upsized :3

they have the same tolerance issues. So, yeah, this is your last chance to get this guy. I’m glad he got rereleased

    Some more pictures.

both figures have this issue at the wings and their caboose is crooked. ER is slightly fixed with slightly better tolerances. I would give ER a + 1 on one wing fitting in.

Edit: it seems that the tail, arms, wing pegs, and underneath panel all are “angled” to fit. If you have it in hand, you’ll see what I mean. You have to flatten the bottom piece out underneath the wings, but this angles the arms and fin in order to make the wings fit. So, it’s a toss up whether or not S or ER is a superior batch. I’d say it’s so negligible. Both fail in terms of being perfect and I revise it to say neither are perfectly straight.

in the instructions, when it tells you to fold the peg back onto the plane’s head, there is this tiny leg. Don’t break it!

Still, I think they are leaps and bounds better that POTP Grimlock’s shell forming. It actually stays in place!!!!

That’s cool they are still using the military icons. The new packages look beautiful.

When you compare the launchpad to the prototype on the box, it’s different. I like what they did in the mold!

Does Earthrise Astrotrain have the steam train alt? Or is it a modern train like TR?

A properly flat launch pad was the only thing that could have persuade me to double dip.

So disappointed, was the bit of Siege Astrotrain I was most looking forward to

Yeah it does - I’m probably going to buy an Earthrise version just for that.
