That escalated quickly.

Just wanted to paint eyes yellow...
then thighs red...
then removed silver "battle damage"...
and now i want to keep Cog as armor





Edit: I'm probably late to the game but i just discovered you can remove thw bumper easily.

 

Yellow eyes are always nice to see!

Looks good! The red actually looks good on the inner bot. Breaks up the blandness a bit.

 

May I ask; did you repaint any of the blue armor parts or is that just how it looks clean of battle damage?

 

the yellow eyes make such a difference i did that myself. What red did you use for the thighs i might do this myself

 

Rubbing alcohol (90%) scrub then Elmer's Painter's Marker navy blue to cover the hard to reach silver paint.

Elmer's Painter Markers red, purple, and white. I started dumping the paint from the markers and mixing them to get a similar color.

I color matched the red on the bottom legs and realized afterward it's darker than the backside of the torso.

I was confused by “art” colors. Had you said box art then I would have understood.

 

Re-did the thighs to a brighter red. Added red to pecs. Added silver to grill and white to windshield to look like RID 2001 Ultra Magnus.

Planned to add blue to inner bot to represent G2 Laser Ultra Magnus but didn't like the idea of the altmode looking off.

Was about to add gold to bumber and rims but i ran out of gold paint. I'll do it later.

 

Since it’s a hodgepodge of references why not try to incorporate the Armada scheme for core Magnus?

 

That's not a bad idea. My main thought was how to incorporate the red thighs for the inner bot without compromising the Car Robots altmode. I was also thinking of unpinning the sides of the trailer to paint silver or gray to match CR/Rid (2001) UMagnus.

 

I have that one too. Hadn’t even thought of it. Better choice. Do it!

 

Oh. And take care when painting the biceps. You’ll need to sand. Major rub issues.

 

I love this. I may try to do something similar with this inner bot Magnus for use with the Kingdom armor, basically giving me options for white or red thighs whenever I want.

If you wanted more red on the arms, you could maybe paint the forearm arrows red. And if you really wanted to go nuts, you could maybe swap lower legs with Galaxy Prime to lean into the Laser Magnus look.

 

Nothing fancy just bought a cheap Netflix Magnus to make Delta and decided to switch out the chests

 

Paint the other silver and you can swap back and forth.
