Storm Cloud,Treadbolt...most Micromaster homages and 1987-1990 G1 homages get me interested enough to want them. I tend to be drawn to the obscure guys who don't get new toys as often.

Man, nothing about that Smokescreen screams "Barricade" unless "bad guy cop" somehow means "wolfs down too many Energon jelly donuts" based on that huge double chin thing going on. I would have been happier if they had used Sideswipe but gave him a visor, or used the Prowl head but gave it a visor. Pretty much anything that made the figure, and the face, look "intimidating" and not "jolly."

 

Or they could do what they did with that on Retool of IDW Bomber Megatron and make a "G1-Asthetic" version of the TLK Megatron head.

Bare with me here though, i sorta spruced it up using the legend-scale and deluxe movie toys as reference. Might not be the best looking one, but at least he looks more accurate to the movie counterpart.

Anything is better than.... that. There’s so many directions for a G1-ized Barricade and they took the the easy one. They could’ve done WFC/IDW for all I care.

 

They should have just released a Smokescreen instead of this.

 

Agreed, even though... well, it might mean the line would have less Deceptions.

 

I still would have preferred to see that then to see a barely assed bad repaint with a Decepticon brand slapped on it. Espeially after looking forward to the first mainline representation of a cool, post G1 character (a movie one no less) into the G1 landscape. Any additional non-G1 character feels like a minor victory at this point. So, seeing, essentially, "SG Smokescreen" was a huge let down (only softened because I would buy this entire line if they did SG versions, so not a total lost for me)

No, that looks pretty awesome. Makes me want to see a Micromaster Barricade in Siege. With his original gimmick though, of course.

They wouldn't be Micromasters if they were giant though. They'd be regular guzzlers.

 

Yeah I want combiners that combined, Headmasters with heads that transform, and Micromasters that are little.

Speaking of BIAS, Rated X seems to be drinking the BAYVERSE Kool-Aid big time. And hey, that's your choice and opinion, but telling everyone else they are wrong because you disagree seems a bit more like trying to pick a fight or start an argument. I'm done with this discussion, but in my opinion, I hope Bumblebee is a reboot because I thought it was a great and ORIGINAL version of the Transformers on the big screen.

 

I mean, the mold would worked better for an G2 Dreadwing.

I still baffled. I love this color scheme but I have two big problems, Why didn't they do the two horns like the NYCC promo video? Also, Why the good awful Smokescreen style head. It looks so stupid on Barricade. Why not just the normal Prowl head.

 

Because it's based on existing art that uses the smokescreen head.
