Had this kit from Shapeways for a while to apply to two Siege Refraktors, since I bought three and am not that bothered about displaying in camera mode. Still a WIP as I need to touchup and then seal. Figures are still fully functional and can transform though the hammer and anvil need to come off to peg in properly Earlier pictures below: as you can see I played with the idea of yellow optics and silver head but ultimately I went with green heads with blue optics as they’ll be joining my IDW Wreckers shelf. Took some liberties with the paint layout on the chest to work best on the moulds and don’t regret it as leas can definitely be more broke my own rules on this project by not priming any of the pieces, with everything that is going on I figured it best not to be spraying from can or airbrush lest it give me a cough and make me more vulnerable to disease. Will be wearing my respirator mask tomorrow for sealing
These are amazing! Makes me wonder if some 3P Refraktors might be a good base for a similar conversion. Very cool and impressive.
before i had made my rack n ruin i saw this shapeways set and thought about going this route. I never saw anyone use it so i wasnt sure how good it would turn out but thats really good. makes me wish i had done this instead.
For those wondering about alt mode this is likely the only time I’ll transform them as Rack n’ Ruin didn’t in any G1 fiction
