Cleaned off the silver paint with 91% isoprophyl alcohol, you can find it at CVS and probably Walmart/Target and a rag. Also, the Cybertronian look on Prime can be removed some the clear bits are plastic that can be easily pushed out and the top of the can can be removed by knocking out a pin.

I'll post more when I get home and take more shots if anyone is interested.

    Some pics of Sideswipe, clean.

Tinkered more with the truck mode, idea from jimimus prime.

Added some more red paint to Megatron's elbows and his sides. Also mounted the smaller cannon on his back and straightened his fists.

Some stickers I made for Sideswipe's car mode.

I've got nothing against the battle damage paintings but they look really nice clean too.
    Great work!

Seeing this. I think Hasbro should remake the original g1 characters in a CHUG line. This shows they can remake the original animation models. I want to see Sunstreaker, Trailbreaker, and more. They could totally do that! But we have Masterpiece so it's highly unlikely.
    But This looks amazing.

That looks great! I definitely want to do this. How hard was it to remove? Any problem areas, or spots close to other paint apps to keep an eye out for?

    Damn that's beautiful.
Actually, EnderDovah had done this too, but it still transforms because under the original truck bits is Optimus' chest, as seen here in his thread: Tuesday at 6:05 PM

That is the G3 trailer in that pic isn't it? Does he have a post for it to hold or do you just have it loosely placed?

Nothing really secures it. There's two tiny nubs on the back of Prime there that can catch the round hole from the trailer but that's it. It's kind of too big so I'm going to look for another one.

How did you avoid removing the faction symbol? That's impressive if you did.

Does the alcohol damage the plastic in anyway? I was considering using the acetone if nail polish remover, but I think it will damage the plastic.

do not use nail polish remover.

that is so much better. i get what hasbro is trying to do but i think this time they should have used stickers for the battle wear. prime really looks so good. especially painting the grill. this will make me pick these guys up for sure.

Nail polish remover will damage the plastic, but I've had a couple of accessory pieces sitting in a plastic tub full of rubbing alcohol for over a month and from what I can tell the plastic has not changed. I used 70% Isopropyl Alcohol. Not sure what the difference is between that and 90% though. I misplaced my bottle once and thought I could substitute nail polish. Bad idea. Ate the edges of the plastic.

I think soaking in 91% alcohol for a prolonged period can potentially make plastic brittle, because I recently soaked my Evasion Optimus' feet in alcohol for 2 days to try and get all of that blue paint off (and still never succeeded), and a one of the leg's ankle joints cracked when I transformed it.

Just applying normally shouldn't be a problem.

Alcohol will remove paint, so just be careful for that.

I've never used alcohol on a tampograph faction symbol before, so I'm wondering if the TC did anything different there, or if those are more durable than regular paint.
