I'm selling the Magnus Prime from my set. Complete, not even snipped out of the plastic tray.
Patiently waiting for Reprolabels set for that.
Though I'm still waiting for Reprolabels sets for CW G2 Bruticus and TR Alpha Trion...
Perfect! You win the internet for today sir!
Aww shucks, that's great power. But I don't have the great responsibility for it. So, everyone wins the Internet today!
The two Thunderwing I got off ebay seem perfectly fine. The worst thing on them is an ever so slight blob of red paint on one of the cheeks. Although I did see a listing for a really messed up one paint wise. Now I just wish they could stand on their own. As I type this one of my Thunderwing just fell backwards from a sitting position for the 3rd time.
Yeah, just like Rodimus who also falls over a lot, the metal faceplate is just too much weight. I like them, they feel more solid than normal ones, but unless they are pegged onto something (a stand, a base, a vehicle, anything) they always fall over on me.
Well that's the funny thing though. The Rodimus I got has absolutely no issues standing. But damn it all Thunderwing is like a tantrum throwing toddler in public, just flops on the ground first chance he gets. I do like the heft these guys have, but damn it all turning the heads is a real pain. Just doing it with my fingers is pure pain.
If those two heads weren't diecast, I might've kept them. They didn't look good on any of the figures I had, nor did they stand very well. Bums me out because that Thunderwing sculpt is pretty awesome... Still hoping we get a leader class Thunderwing in POTP...
That's so weird both Rodimus and Thunderwing stand fine for me as well.
If I put either on a peg, they stand fine, but if I just stand them on a shelf, I have to bend the waist so they almost look like they are bowing, or they fall over.
Did you pay $100+ for said burger? It's not quite an equal analogy, is it? Certainly for $100 there is a reasonable expectation of quality. There is also a reasonable expectation that sometimes in mass production, you get a lemon. But I don't think I would shoot down a consumer versus a company, that just leads to more wealth at the top when you make excuses for them like your example there. To err is human, but so is to steal.
I wonder what will be the long term appeal of this set. The Combiner Wars sets did not fair well and there are some real lemons here.
These boxsets will become long term AWESOME. Fantastic repaints for such a low retail price!
I agree that both Chaos On Velocitron & Siege On Cybertron are great sets made available at affordable prices.
Decided to just keep Metalhawk, Tidal Wave & Thunderwing Titanmaster & gotten rid of the rest of the figures.
Now to patiently wait for the other set (Chaos on Velocitron) to hit clearance bins in my country before I bring that home.
For those that have Magnus Prime, if yours does have the grey clips/tabs in the feet that hold Godbomber in (mine does not), how are they attached? Friction? Pinned? Just wondering if I could get them 3d printed and snap them in.
The red plastic is what holds the feet on. You'll see tabs sticking out on them that correlate to the channels in Godbomber's legs. That's how they attach.
If you ask me thunderwing pairs best with nitro from the last knight
Yeah, I'm thinking of trying this myself once I ship my PoL. I tried Doomshot (Megatron) and Nucleon (Galvatron) and neither really looked quite right.
Thunderwing looks even better in person than in pics, the difference in color isn't quite as drastic
Did Nitro Zeus ever come out at retail? I don't collect movie toys and by the time I realized this was a good fit for the Thunderwing head I don't see them in stores. My impression is that he is wave 3 and all I see are Grimlocks and Optimus Primes.
