Does this make you think Siege will last maybe till mid 2020?

 

If Leader Astrotrain is legit, I really hope they re-do Blitzwing and Octane too. Granted, I'd rather have Astrotrain as a commander class.

 

Meh I'm perfectly happy with Titans Return Astrotrain, a perfect figure and in perfect scale for my shelf. It'd take a lot to convince me into buying him, though it didn't make much for me to order Siege Magnus despite not needing him.

 

Which is my biggest problem with Siege and why I haven't bought any of the larger figures.... But the laziness of Hasbro's designers is an entirely different topic then this.

I'm going to make a totally baseless guess that Astrotrain is a Shockwave remold that adds super mode parts to one alt mode to make the other alt mode.

Me too, he's perfect for the base mode play pattern and the size is totally appropriate for him.

 

Interesting- I would definitely buy an astrotrain with a decent locomotive alt mode. None of the bullet, artillary, or “cybertronian” train mode nonsense.

 

Except all the traditional vehicle-based bots have had alt modes that look earth-based with some added bells and whistles to make them seem “alien”

It's kind of the conceit of Siege in general.

Shockwave and Omega Supreme already have alien alt modes, so whatever. Impactor, Flywheels, Impactor, Jetfire and Megatron aren't really all that "alien" to begin with and most of the Autobots just look like unliscensed Earth modes. Starscream and Soundwave are the only ones who really feel like they're Cybertronian alt modes.

It won't happen but I'd buy him if the extra parts clip onto the back of shuttle/train mode to hold micromasters. Especially if the whole thing got remolded as roller the police wagon.

No. Hasbro finds value in having the big box stores reset the line right before Christmas every year. It'd make more sense to extend the trilogy into a quadrology or something than extend a single subline out at this point

 

Whoa Astrotrain is only huge in altmode, and then he'd be bigger than commander class. Devastator fit inside. Let's ignore that because it's unattainable. Siege leader should be the perfect size. Takara TR Blitzwing and Octane weren't too bad. It was Astrotrain that felt nothing like himself.

. I don't want to poop on hopes and dreams, but Titan class...c'mon. if they're doing another Titan we should get the Ark...as a reformatted Omega Supreme or an Omega Sentinel...better yet have the Omega Sentinal come first and then repaint it into Omega Supreme.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Astrotrain will get retooled into Armada Jetfire, same alt mode, and considering the smaller leader size, he could fit into forming super pants for Armada Prime. There's also a bit of precedent in that Armada Jetfire was retooled into Shattered Glass Astrotrain.
