This is pretty much what I was thinking about, but I couldn’t remember where it had been done before! :)

Definitely needs to be a battle master this time around.

I'd consider that, if the Universe Inferno mold were one that I actually liked. So nope, totally getting replaced.

    G-R-A-P-P-L-E ! ! !

    That package...

I cannot wait to stick this guy with Optimus, Ironhide, Ratchet and eventually Inferno as senior military cabinet of the Autobots.

I'm keeping my Artfire and Stepper in the older molds but will update Inferno and Grapple.

Grapple is juicy. All of the other figures I have preordered are like dust in my mouth compared to Grapple.

Grapple looks nice in his package there, but if I recall, his more dynamic stock photo showed quite a lot of hollow space.

I daresay that Earthrise packaging is the best we've gotten out of Transformers since Armada.

Okay, Grapple is looking his way out of "Maybe" and into the "eventually" section of my want list with how he looks. Other than that, I'm surprised to see plastic on the package considering all the talk about removing it before.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: while not without their hiccups (DotM packaging comes to mind), Hasbro consistently shows that they have the best package and graphic designers in the business. Their toys always pop spectacularly on the shelves.

How did you come about this conclusion? Knowledge of this will determine my purchase pattern.

it helps to think of it from a cash flow stand point; you have $10 to spend on making a figure to keep it in the leader class price point, and anymore would put it over budget and start warring potential profits, so you try to walk right up to that $10 line, but no more. I imagine blue fists would have brought it over the line.

yeah I kind of agree. I have the Earth Starscream on preorder, but I think I like the Tetra jets more. Waist articulation, fun transformation, what looks like a lot more surface detail. I may just wait for the ER seeker mold to be made into Dirge and call it a day.

That would be cool but all I want is a roller with little seats to throw in some Diaclone pilots like you can do with Siege Hound and Countdown:) .

    What color is Grapple?

It looked Orange in the real images but closer to yellow in the promos

I'm in with the "Starscream is a downgrade from Siege" crowd. Yes it's looks great overall at first glace, but the loss of waist and possibly wrist articulation kills it for me. Those two articulation really do make a huge difference in poseability. The more I look at it, the more it looks very blocky, especially the plane undercarriage. The fact that it's just a Generation upscale with a few tweak is a bit sad. Sure it was a great version, amazing mold at the time, but this is many years later, they really could have done better.

Grapple, Astrotrain and the rest are on my to-get list.

It's a good thing this is a 100% new mold then.

Totally agree. Siege and Earthrise packaging is giving me memories of being a teenager and picking up my favorite comics in the mid-90s. The art was so impactful and exciting. I never thought modern Hasbro packaging could excite me as much as the classic grid + gradient + dynamic pose of the original G1 package but it definitely does. Any child picking up these figures today will become an instant diehard fan.

You got us Hasbro and it doesn't seem like you want to let go!
