As Siege ended and Rubble being the sole of the pair that was released, it just didn't work for me. As my local Toys-r-Us had a few more extras and a sale was still on, I decided that if I can made a Redwing out of Starscream, it should be easy to turn a Rubble into his blue companion Frenzy. (not up for debate so please abstain) Again, this was a figure that couldn't easily to taken apart, so I had to be very precise and patient to do it and get it done right. Mixing a touch of white into my blue paint, I managed to get a blue that is very close to identical to Soundwave, putting red on the "knees" to match the G1 a bit more, it turned out better than my expectations. I didn't think that the flipping of the colors from red to blue would be so dramatic, but I find that it truly makes it look amazing and gives it his personality in an impressive manner.
Nice work! Never found this bot and a bit disappointed in the articulation. If third party Legends can do it, Hasbro can too (I know budget restraints and stuff). Still, I would like the pair someday. You did great on the colors too
Sorry for the delay, I kept wanting to get some done, but always pulled into doing other stuff... but I finally took the time and added more as you asked:
This week, I decided to do a few changes.. I first redid my blue, and that was a mistake, too pale.. so back to the first blue. Then, seeing the "authentic" I knew what I missed... the head mostly, but then I found that the body having a very small blue tint would also a good thing... I few hit and misses, had to redo the gold, but in the end I think it looks good. Rumble also needed some shades while at it. As the same time, I just knew that Soundwave needed something.. His weapons! Too flat... so, some black wash, the missile tips in black, and silver for his gun!
