It's a mass produced toy, i doubt anything "authentic" can be achieved to the same level a customizer can.
They either pre-programmed the pattern for every figure or the spay pattern is random, but regardless of which I doubt you'll see any changes or improvements beyond maybe a different color.

I like Siege the best.

It could use more paint though.

 

I could scrap the CW one to place the head on the Siege one. I like the CW head better.

 

MP Prowl with a budget

 

i was thinking they could either use the same amount of paint but use it more sparingly so they could cover more parts of the body or use something like an enamel wash on some areas. by improve i meant finding other methods of weathering other than scratching that is cost effective but still gives the vibe that they've fought in a war

 

Maybe he has no weathering because he just sent everyone else in to fight the battles while he was in HQ strategising and pulling strings.

 

Couldn't figure out what was bugging me about his chest section; it's the logo being off center. No idea why they didn't just center it above the triangle black section like every other version of him. That and his shoulder wheels being completely unnoticeable; they need to be black. Then a 3rd party needs to release shoulder cannons.

 

The first one.

Apart from the neck brace, it's not bad, especially the Takara version.

Considering his "American" police car mode still had most of the Japanese police car features included in it (with just a few English stickers on top), I'd say that was fair.

 

I highly doubt ANYONE expects it to be that good. I would just like to see something between SS Grimlock and what they did on Siege wave 1, ie: for it to not look like shit.

But rally, as much as I hate the look on the figures the only real problem ones were Prime and Megatron. The others used it so sparingly and at strategic places that it was hardly bad or ugly unlike Prime and Megatron, whom looked like they just got hit with bird shit.

 

Damn, forgot how... poorly Universe Prowl has aged.

Honestly I don't think any of them look great. Siege is close but the ultra wide shoulders, conflicting aesthetics between the blocky and techy robot bits and the super smooth and bulbous alt mode, and the kinda dumpy head put me off.

No thanks. Chest and shoulders look hilariously wide, legs are nonexistant and the Autobrand is just lazy slapped on a weird spot...not for me.

Frustrating for me ‘cos I want a decent classics Prowl and all three efforts have only been so-so imo.

 

Why? I feel like it’s objectively the worst, and I hate CW Prowl-cosplaying-as-Streetwise, but Seige Prowl’s proportions (and alt mode) are just AWFUL.

 

I don’t hate it, and I’ll get it, but it isn’t going to replace my CW Datsun trio. I jus hope Barricade looks better.

 

Wow, Siege is super wide up top. Like “I’m only ever doing chest again” wide.

 

I thought Siege Prowl might be one of those TFs that would end up growing on me, I like slightly weird proportions when done right, but nah, trying to be simultaneously "Cybertronic" and sleek while also blocky and über G1 just doesn't work particularly well.

Personally I'll be very happy if they ditch the "weathering" completely by the second part of the WFC Trilogy. Use the ¢2 it saves on the paint budget for actual paint apps and let fans add weathering themselves if they want to.

 

None of them are perfect. But the Siege version makes an impression.

 

Thank you for sharing this image, Ive never seen G1 Prowl with those stickers, so this must be why WFC Prowls Autobot insignia is off center, I was personally offput by it as a prefer a central insignia etc but m a bit more at ease about it now thanks to this image.

 

It looks better than classics Prowl. I\'ll give it that.

 

I must admit, that back cleans up real nicely.
