I wonder if Shockwave's armor is fully specialized just for him, or if he's like a half-Weaponizer?

 

I'm somewhat pretty happy at what was shown. I did kind of scratch my head and go (is that it,you're got to be kidding cause i was looking for more though.) If nothing else gets shown down the road till toy fair 2019' them i guess it's ok than but i wouldn't liked to see more.

 

Well maybe that's nice, but it doesn't mean much to me. I'd honestly be happier with voyager class for Shockwave.

I just want a Megatron/Galvatron figure at some point in time. Perhaps they could do it as a 'mega-pretender' if they ever make a serious attempt at that dubious gimmick.

The problem is this is set in the earliest parts of the Cybertron war, while Micromasters & a few other later characters have cropped up this is mainly the core 84 cast. Galvatron, like Rodimus Prime is two characters who wouldn’t show up so early in this storyline. You might have more luck in part 2 or 3 of WFC, depending on when it’s set.

And why Shockwave as a leader? I’m pretty sure he can’t be marketed as a gun, even a giant purple one now because of various laws around the world. However, if you can make an ‘unofficial’ one out of the parts? Well, that’s not Hasbro’s fault...   It’s like they’re trying to skirt round the issue.

Also, it looks like his backpack may be the front part of the Shockwave Leader ‘ship mode’, so if he was released just as a Voyager he wouldn’t have the add-on parts necessary for his blaster mode. Basically I think the tooling cost more than Voyager class, so they threw in a few extra parts to make it a legitimate Leader toy, rather than release him at a lower price point without essential parts/unable to form a gun.

 

A General Grievous Shockwave (Four Armed Shockwave) is something I would have thought they would do in the bayverse.

I have a theory
Amazon will get 3 black repainted voyagers
sky warp, nemesis prime, and sound blaster
and they will come with 20$ worth of repainted stuff
sound blaster will come with enemy, wing thing, howlback, and garboil
sky warp or nemesis prime will come with 4 battle masters or a weaponize
so the gimmick is repented completely

 

Probably because they had him half-designed as an armored Leader Class figure in PotP anyway, like they did Ultra Magnus.

 

While it made me sigh, this is honestly pretty likely. I've been trying to avoid another subscription service, but I think being a Transformers collector is going to become dependent on Amazon.

If the rumours are true, they're recycling the unused PoTP Leader design (with a few tweaks). Would make sense to modify a shelved design you've already mapped out, than start from scratch when you don't need to.

I don't think they'd give a Leader slot to Megs/Galvy this time around, because of scale. WFC is trying to keep everyone roughly at the right heights, and Voyager Megatron seems to fit that bill nicely....plus CW Megs is already filling the Leader class Megatron slot to go with Prime Trilogy releases (and he's too big for most of them).

 

I wonder how a Conehead retool will work if they would like to retain the wings on the legs.

Thrust should just follow the backpack wings.

Alternatively, they could hang the wings on the lower backpack like a cape and then rotate them up again back to the Starscream wing position. See MAAS Toys Tetrajet Seekers.
