I was looking at the older classics like Sunstreaker and Prowl and realized they lack side mirrors and don't look quite right when put next to the newer ones like Tracks and Jazz. It's starting to really bug me. Without hacking into other TFs, does anyone have a suggestion on how to make a bunch of these mirrors to glue on these guys? I was thinking of make them on Shapeways, but I know nothing about 3D rendering.

Yep. Also, you can check other toy cars that are around the 1:32 scale as well. You may be surprised at some of the cheaper options out there (like at Wal*mart or even the dollar stores).

Yep, and you can probably even raid them for wheels as well. :)
