The size doesn't bother me too much personally since he's supposed to be the chosen one and powered up by Primus himself. Plus he's still shorter than Newage's Ultra Magnus, so it works well enough for me.

The reason for leaving his heels flipped up is because his toes sit lower than the heels do, causing him to lean backwards a lot, but if you leave the heels in their vehicle mode position they're at the same level as the toes in bot mode position. I figure he doesn't really have an ankle tilt as is, so doing it that way doesn't really hinder articulation.

Hi everybody! I am new here and wanted to share some pics of my legends+ collection.

 

My Newage Galvatron OSKO should be arriving today! And Newage Skywarp just shipped from ShowZ! Getting more into this scale than I ever thought I would, but after getting a few of the leader characters in, I think I'm at peace with switching scales. These are just as good as the larger official figures, if not better in at least some regards, and take up a fraction of the space making it easier to include combiners and other larger characters.

 

Yeah you got sucked in like the rest of us. I used to collect some MP figures and most of CHUG. Now if it’s G1 I get it in 3PL. Other universes like Beast Wars I still get the CHUG stuff. I have no need for MP anymore and have lost all interest in the line.

 

I was never too big on MP, and for CHUG I'll still be getting BW, Crossovers and modern vehicle mode re-imaginings (like Volvo Prime), but I think for strictly 80s G1 stuff I'm gonna fully swap over to Legends scale. They're just so good at the size they are and it's nice that they come with all the accessories that they should.

Previously... Soundwave and Rumble see Megatron has mistransformed and now has a tail. Luckily Megatron has a sense of humor and laughs with them.

 

It may not be accurate to the sacred scale charts, but this works well for me. As a plus, the face really isn't that bad in hand and it's not entirely inaccurate. He looked like that in Headmasters quite a bit based on a google search

Great figure, I just wish the colors weren't so muted. Gotta make sure you take the hands out when adding or removing the gun or you'll probably break the post.

 

What's the general consensus between Newage and Magic Square Ironhide/Ratchet? The Newage one looks a bit squished to me in vehicle mode

 

I prefer the newage, but the magic square has better articulation specifically on the legs. The facesculpt on the newage is better than the MS one. The finish on the Newage is much better, as are the materials.

The Vans are a hot topic. The Newage is squished but it looks accurate to the cartoon's proportions, but the MS version is considered too long and also out of proportion. Paint chipping is also common on the windows.

They scale differently, so you have to pick one company over the other if you have multiple bots on your shelf, same thing goes for the aesthetics.

 

Most of my stuff is Newage, but there are ones I've gone with different companies for. The vans are close enough in height where I don't think either would bother me too much.

 

Got those "legends scale" toon characters. As expected they are underscaled, sadly more than I expected. Consider that he's also on about a millimeter thick base.



They do, however, look pretty good next to smaller scaled alts.
