Cang just released more pics of their take on the Dinobots and I'm willing to bet they've already started development on the Legends scaled version like their Preda-King of Braves. I know they're not slavishly G1 but I just think of them as Iron Factory 2.0.

 

Same situation. Was about to buy the Dinos at ShowZ 2 weeks ago, but ended up not buying them and keep waiting on MS Dinos. This happened to me a couple of times now...  

 

I was looking for a scene (not this one) and thought what the hell.

 

If you dont have a set of DX9 dinobots get them, they are really great figures

 

Huh, maybe I need to invest in some Autobot Legends, cause right now, Windblade and Trailbreaker are kind of, um, screwed

i wouldn't even bother waiting at this point. we have talked about newer dinos a few times now and it always comes back to the ones we have now are going to be extremely hard to top. that and you have to fight against whatever the new price could be and complete market saturation from DX9/MFT.

as far as updates go the only real hope would be from MS.

i feel like they might just be a little too complicated for NA these days. his recent updates to older molds have had very mixed reviews.

I understand your point of view and your feelings towards Newage, but I'm going to have to agree to disagree personally. I don't really feel like anything is too complicated for them. In my personal opinion, they have done an amazing job with almost everything they have put out. There have been bumps along the road, sure, as mostly any 3rd party company can attest to. No one is perfect, and no figure will ever be perfect. Imo there will always be something that can be improved.

I am sad to hear that recent NA figures have received mixed reviews, but I understand where people are coming from. It's not hard to see that many people disagree about a lot of things in this Fandom. Whether it be fake parts, parts forming or otherwise, we all differ in many ways as fans. Personally, I couldn't care less about Prime's fake parts or Devastator's (MS or NA) partsforming. I love NA's Devy. He is a solid and great looking combiner to me. I also love the way Prime looks. I get many people are upset with the double chest but idk dude, I just don't see the big deal outside of the double headlights. I don't really think it looks as bad at people are making it seem personally. But to each their own  

I am a huge fan of Newage and Magic Square. They are 2 of my favorite companies and I feel they always will be. They both do great work imo and I hope that both of them remain successful enough to create their versions of every character from G1. I personally really hope that whether someone is a Newage fan, or a Magic Square fan, that at the end of the road, there will be a complete collection of every character they want/need from their favorite company/companies. I think it would be very unfortunate if either company were not able to release everything they want to release. If either company were to dissappear I would be very disappointed honestly.

You and many other may not want their version of the Dinobots. You may think the DX9 figures are as great as it gets, and can't be outdone. They are definitely great figures and you may be right, they may not ever get outdone. But for me, I still would love for NA and MS to give it a shot regardless. I feel like their takes on the characters would be great, just like the MFT and DX9 are. Yeah just "slapping a fake chest on them and calling it a day" wouldn't be ideal, but I don't think they would do that. I feel like both MS and NA deserve more credit than some people give them. Not all of their figures have had fake chests, or partsforming, or gaps. I don't believe any of their figures are lazy in design (not saying you said they are lazy, unless you do think that. I just know that's something people like to throw around when partsforming or fake parts, amongst many other things are concerned).

At the end of the day, only time will tell if new takes on the characters will be attempted. If neither company releases them, then that's disappointing, but something I will live with. There's nothing I can do about it. If they feel like it wouldn't be successful, then that's their right. But I don't think I'm the only person here that would love to see them and many more figures from either/both companies, or frankly, any other company that wants to throw their hat in the ring. Call me a fanboy or too optimistic if you wish, but those are my extremely long thoughts. Happy collecting to you friend

I don't think there is a specific one. They're inspired by G1 characters, but with their own style away from the blocky aesthetic of G1.

I put them in their own little head canon universe.

Divebomb looks da bomb, actually   So far the only non-G1-toon bots I have are MMC's Chromedome and Rewind. As you may have guessed, I have been tempted before...
