Where does the 86 (I think) movie fall into this as far as the episodes go?
someone pls tell me there's closed captioning?
Between seasons 2 and 3 I think.
Nope, sorry. The cost to do captioning on all the episodes would have been astronomical apparently...
Could you use a ruler next to it. Then I can put a ruler next to the box. Same with the individual cases. That would help. I'm just curious as to whether or not It will take up more or less shelf space than the Rhino versions...
Just took a good look at the second pic. Man it takes up about half as much space I'd guess.. Sweet.
Got mine today when I came home from work. This set is awesome. I haven't even played a disk yet and I already feel like I got it for a steel. The packaging is incredible. They really went all out with the whole thing. The size is perfect too. Big enough to definitely be noticed on the shelf, but not so huge that it's sucking up a ridiculous amount of space. I'll probably end up putting it on my toy shelf as a backdrop for my Classics figs.
My only gripe is that it doesn't play The Touch when you slide it open. Maybe I can do something about that though...
Off to watch some episodes now that the TV is freed up. Be back in like... 5 days.
Soo... when the hell does the G.I.Joe set come out? I'm all over that.
Okay, everyone's posting that they received the sets.... Great.....
Can someone watch some eps and report on the quality of the DVDs??
Curious about picture quality, original audio preservation, and hoping there aren't as many animation mistakes as the Rhino relase.
I have a 46in Sammy LCD playing through a PS3 so it's upconverting. The picture looks excellent, yet still retains that 80's Saturday morning cartoon feel. The sound quality is also very good.
As far as animation errors, I never watched or owned the rhino sets so I can't comment on that aspect. I will say that I am very happy considering they are 25 years old and look to be fantastic remasters...worth all $150!
The original animation errors are all there(watched disc 1 this morning, lots of mouths failing to move during dialog, double starscreams, etc), but that's fine with me because it's part of the charm. The picture and audio quality overall is excellent though.
And most importantly, it has the CORRECT season 1 intro music and transitions, as well as no "extra" ******ed pew pew laser sound effects.
GI Joe comes out this month as well.. 21st I believe.. I ordered it too.. NOw I'll finally get the entire series instead of bein left off like Rhino's..
Just wanted to say that I received my DVD Set yesterday (used Free Rush Shipping and this is my first complete G1 Set of Episodes DVDs).
I did a quick check of places Rhino DVDs had errors, and can tell you in Heavy Metal War, Shout! fixed the part where they had colored Cliffjumper as Bumblebee, and the part where Megatron teleported, at least. It was a really quick check though, I don't know what else they might have fixed, those were just the two parts Rhino messed up that I remembered off the top of my head.
Sweet. Thanks for the report. That's good to know. I really need to pick up this set.

undertaker, sweet pics. Thanks for sharing!
Wow i really really want this!!!
Lame box for $150, you think they could have provided something alot more sturdy and nice over just a paper box. Metal, wood, plastic something .....
Sorry to ask such a dumb question but where can you order this or is it too late to order one?

I think I am lost in this but does this set means that there will be no partial releases as RHINO did? so if I bought the season 1 set now I have to buy the entire set and have season 1 duplicated and $20.00 worth of DVD wasted??????
There ARE separate season release planned. Season 2 is hitting soon.
The individual seasons will not have everything that this huge box set has. This is very much a collector's package, where as the separate seasons are for people that just want to see the episodes only.
Separate names with a comma.
