Does anyone think that we should have a 3P Hot Rod MP? I like the official one but it hasn't aged well compared to the quality of engineering of MP10 forward. I know Takara sort of suggested that he fits the current scale which he does, but I think what makes the figure weak was the novelty idea of making Hot Rod/Rodimus one figure instead of two. Would anyone like to see this happen sometime in the future?

I'd totally be down for an mp hot rod in scale with the current mp cars.

Current mp rodimus mostly nails the rodimus prime/convoy vibe. The hot rod mode is a laughable attempt at a two in one design.

I would love a Hot Rod who is in scale with the other MP cars. One with a transformation that doesn't suck and knee caps that don't explode. And one with some decent hands.

    We can hope...!

I'd love both a new MP Hot Rod and a new MP Rodimus. Preferably as two seperate figures.

MP-9 is not...very good. This is coming from a die-hard Rodimus fan too.

As a robot mode display piece, I like MP-09, but beyond that he sucks. He is the one MP I never take off the shelf.

I'd love to see a Rodimus Prime with an all-in-one transformation, and a separate Hot Rod figure that's scaled to the new MPs.

Hands and a major ankle redesign. Actually an Ankle simplification. The ankles on the MP-09 are grossly over complicated!!! But I just ordered the Fanstyle Bluestreak hands for MP Hot Rod.

But a new 3rd party Hot Rod would be most welcome!!!

An MP Hot Rod sized to MP 12 and Co That doesn't dismantle itself/explode out of the box would be great.

Yup, I would LOVE a Hot-Rod-Only 3P HotRod. No compromises to car mode for winnebago mode! Just Hot Rod and a car, not Rodimus and/or winnebago too.

The scale thing is a big deal. I'd love a Hot Rod and Kup. I'd also love it if Hot Rod took a few design cues from the toy.

A MP Hot Rod in the same size as the MP carbots would likely be one of the most difficult things to make. The design just doesn't lend itself to be so small.

Problems are of course that the color of the legs aren't on the altmode, so they'd have to store somehow. Technically speaking the entire side of the altmode should be the arms, while the arms should flip around for transformation (to get the wheels on the backside of the arms). Just look at all the fragile, folding parts on MP-9 and that's a leader sized MP Hot Rod. To make a carbot sized figure you'd be basically talking about downsizing MP-9, making it even more fragile.

MP-9's only compromise for the RP altmode is that the canopy flips over. MP-9 really is a MP Hot Rod (robot and altmode) with some added things for a Rodimus Prime mode (leg extension, face flip, canopy flip and spoiler sliding), but none of those really influence either mode.

MP-9 without the Rodimus Prime mode would be almost the exact same figure as it is now. And the few changes that would be there, wouldn't effect the stability or the strength of the figure.

Like the Titanium? That would be extremely difficult since the entire trailer has to transform into those non-bulky legs. I think the best thing to would to either copy the G1 toy design with just legs sticking under the trailer, or what I wish they had done in the first place and copy an episode of the G1 cartoon to give us this:

A sort of Hot Rod car (but more angular, bigger and without the engine block) to which a trailer could be added.

Shouldn't an MP Hot Rod be bigger than the MP cars in bot mode?

Wasn't a 3rd party company making a Hot Rod out of the Sideswipe mold or was that just a custom or a horrible dream I had.

I think so (holy scale chart anybody? IIRC Hot Rod is taller than the regular car dude in bot mode).
And I'd be absolutely fine with that.
