I read this on a website about tv tropes and haven't done any fact checking yet but it said if Beast Wars had gone on into it's fourth season it would have been labeled Beast Hunters, I'm not sure if that means they where gonna rename the show or if it was a sub heading and of course we did have Beast Hunters in Prime, again I haven't checked if this is true or not but we are just getting to the awesome part. The plot was going to involve the Maximals pursuing Megatron through space. The Coneheads where said to become recurring villains and there was going to be this whole angle as to whether or not Tigatron could be trusted.

Well, Hasbro didn't think it was interesting enough to translate into English, so take that as you will.

IMHO Beast Machines is vastly underrated. It's some of the finest storytelling that has ever been done in Transformers televised fiction. I think the problem is that it was so far afield of the normal whiz-bang sell the next new toy type of stories we were used to, that it almost seems like a different property. It was dark, and the themes were quite complex and mature for a Saturday morning cartoon. I think the difference threw a lot of people off, and that is a shame. And it would be the last good writing we would get for a long, long while. Admittedly, it's not for everyone, but it's my absolute favorite from a storytelling standpoint.

No, those characters have nothing to do with each other.

If you've read the BW collection of the comics with magmatron and razorback, that would be nice to see on-screen.

BM to me seemed to leave more questions than answers and for each week I watched and each year I collected therevwere episodes and toys that were equally hit or miss. Deluxe Jetstorm is a tiny god. His screen version was meh.

BM had great potential, but it was also the dusk to a beautiful era of originality that IMHO saved the TF franchise from the fringes of obscurity. As popular animal forms were running low with a limited budget, a new decade with a new younger audience meant Hasbro could try the howling sirens of big red firetrucks instead of a howling monkey with existential angst. The vehicons in BM served (if you'll forgive the pun) as perfect vehicles to bring attention back to, well, vehicles. Truth be told I enjoyed the Vehicon toys a lot more than I did the animal forms.

I've posted on other threads my vision of a BW redux, the creative space is cerainly there, but I'm not sure people are as eager to welcome back the furries just yet. I say let nuRID play out and let that serve as a soft segway back to well-executed ani-bots.

What's your opinion? You keep bringing up these discussions, but how do you feel about what you're asking?

I agree. I actually like BM. I know that it was a departure from BW, but wasn't that the point? It also brought back vehicular TF's, so that was a plus. I still wonder what would have happened with Transtech...they had some cool designs on the abandoned horizon.
