Hypothetical question time: Fansproject announces that they were surprised by the level of preference for the exclusive gold chrome version of Columpio and declares that if it is indeed what the majority of fans want, they could switch to that gold chrome color for the regular retail release of Columpio and the rest of his dinobot brothers. The micron rider would still remain exclusive to the TFCon 2014 release. So as a simple poll, Yes or No, is that something you would want?

 

Yes. But I'd actually want the candy red chest more than the gold chrome.

Definitely yes, and this is coming from someone who ordinarily hates chrome.

But like Sammael said, the metallic red is also a really nice addition. I'd be more fine with the standard release's red chest if it didn't have that odd darker red paint app on it, the two-toned look doesn't really improve it IMO.

 

Nah. Exclusives are supposed to be exactly that and differentiated by key changes.

Most definitely, yes. Or at least offer it as an alternative at retail, not make it an exclusive to particular geographic markets.

 

the lack of chrome and exclusives with chrome stopped me dead in my tracks from pursuing this line.

 

I don't really plan on buying them since they don't fit in my collection (something that I find a bit of a shame), but I'm definitely not bying them without the chrome.

I voted yes, but we still haven't seen in-hand pics of the regular release, so maybe the difference isn't so drastic. Still, only doing the chome and metallic red deco on a convention exclusive was a bad move, especially if only one of the dinos will get that treatment.

 

Yes to chrome! That way FP's Dinos can go with my AOE Voyager G1 styled Grimlock (from the two pack with Silver Knight Optimus Prime) and Planet X's FOC Dinos with their flat gold paint can go with Takara Generations Grimlock.

Chrome on just anything and everything doesn't do much for me (sorry, Hasbro), but when it comes to G1 style dinobots - YES PLEASE.

 

Not sure what you mean by in-hand, but regular release Columpio was on display at TFCon. TJ Duckett and others took a bunch of pics. He is not bad per se, but compared to the exclusive his gold paint looks flat, his red chest is dull, and he is a lot darker than the exclusive (black and dark red instead of the lighter colors).

 

The regular release looks fine to me. I don't like chrome anyway, it flakes off too easily, especially over time. It also looks nasty with fingerprints all over it.
