Honestly I could only think it may work if he wasn't an actual ghost, but was more like a "ghost" seen by only one character (like megatron for example). And more of a figment of his imagination (like bumblebee is to starscream in Idw now) and would question his decisions etc... problem is starscream wasn't a well enough developed character to do that and there isn't enough screen time for them to have scenes wih megatron and starscreams "ghost". That is really the only way to do it and it would be more of a nod to that g1 concept then an actual using of it. But even that is a far far stretch.

No, Movie Starscream never really brought anything interesting to the table. Still annoys me they never fleshed him out. I only recall him once "maybe" trying to claim the spot as leader of the Decepticons until Megatron returned in ROTF. Other than that he was pretty much a bland coward.

 

Nothing in the movies was developed to the point where his character was memorable enough or unique enough to be worth bringing back.
Nothing in the movies hinted remotely to Starscream being connected with a character enough for him to appear as a ghost to anyone.
Nothing in the movies hinted remotely to the idea that a Transformer could return as some form of ghost.

As such, logically nothing is in place for the idea to work or be done in the movie-verse and bringing in a ghost of a character that will not have appeared in Transformers; Age of Extinction or Transformers; The Last Knight is not really worth it. Its going to be pushing it bringing back some of the human characters from the original trilogy and expecting the general audience to remember them, it would be even worse if they had to re-introduce the ghost of a robotic character who barely had any development to begin with.

 

Starscream as a character isn't worth it, and it wouldn't fit the more grounded Bayverse anyhow.

Movie Starscream was not (as yet) an interesting enough character to warrant such a thing. But I wouldn't mind (as I mentioned in another thread) if The Last Knight alters the timeline and Starscream is still alive (and able to actually get some character development). Such a time change might explain why Barricade is back and Megs is Megatron and not "Galvatron".

Wait, so you want Starscream's Ghost in a movie now?

 

The only thing worth bringing him back for is the name and the association of a more interesting character. G1, Armada, IDW, Animated, Prime, maybe even Energon but I'm not watching it to find out. So no. I'll take his more interesting brother Starrscream, or maybe they could give Skywarp a character (they won't). Probably wouldn't even give him his warping power. These movies are fun time-wasters, but not much else.
