Rapid Anti-robot Assault Team - Transformers Wiki As a third faction with toys as well. The RAAT toys would be non-transformable vehicles with human mini-figures that can fit in any RAAT vehicle.
I used to read the marvel comics when I was young...Pre-Furman. here's my appraisal of the us run. It was great at first, with the exception of spiderman's appearnce...that was too silly for my tastes... Then there was this great boring swath of boringness, where every issue seemed like it introduced 50 new characters...RAAT was from this time period. Furman takes over-things are slow at first, but then get really great... Then...Primus is introduced. ugh. A bit more... It ends...with the return of optimus prime...big surprise. Basically...to summarize my opinion on the original topic, I have nothing against the idea. But where would they get the tech to fight a superior alien force. That's the thing I hate about alien invasion movies, Humans usually win. But I don't think RAAT is on hasbro's map,and it might be that marvel owns RAAT?
Marvel owns Circuit Breaker? So they (and thus disney) own RAAT too? It's a good thing* hasbro is making toys for disney. Maybe they can get into talks for retconning circuit breaker into the marvel universe as a 'mutant'. Perhaps they can have her use her abilities on sentinels? (*not so secretly hates disney and marvel)
Okay. I don't follow mainstream 'superhero' comics*, so I'll take your word for it. Is that something new or old? *Heck, I don't even read transformers comics...
She appeared at the end of secret wars 2, right before her appearance in marvel transformers in 1984. This was done so circuit breaker was a marvel character. I believe she talked the beyonder into not wiping out all life in the universe, and ended the saga. I would be fine with RAAT coming back. There's a unit like that with a new name in most continuities. But I'd much rather have circuit breaker come back. Love that character. And if she were to ever come into a modern movie, either tf or mcu, she should be played by jeri ryan.
Our best bet IMHO would be if Hasbro continues the Transformers collaborations like Ectotron and perhaps does a Marvel crossover. The issue is that Death’s Head, Circuit Breaker, and RAAT (and Bug) are owned by Marvel but are not in huge demand for Marvel collections whereas they might have demand with TF collectors. So IMHO the best bet is a toy crossover supported by a comic or something. We DID get Avengers/TFs as a crossover with the toys but I don’t think that sold. And was kind of an odd fit like Star Trek/Legion of Super-Heroes. And was admittedly pretty silly with Marvel characters wearing mech suits of themselves. I feel like Fantastic Four or Guardians of the Galaxy are better “fits” with TFs (being more sci-fi than super-hero) and are the kind of franchises where Death’s Head and Circuit Breaker fit as characters. There’s history of overlapping ideas like Galactus/Unicron and you could do big high concept stuff like Doctor Doom stealing the Matrix of Leadership’s power or Galactus eating Unicron. IMHO, the Avengers and Captain America kind of mesh better with G.I.Joe. Outside of rare stuff like Death’s Head as the obscure end of a Marvel Legends wave, these characters IMHO would get their best shot in a narrative crossover with a comic and a few toys.
Instead of RAAT we should just get GI Joe truth be told. If we're gonna get a line of human figures that drive vehicles to that scale with them well that's just GI Joe.
No RAAT please, as the idea of having human military units hunting down Transformers has been done to death, resurrected and done to death over the years.
She's kinda old now, don'tcha think? Now maybe as she was in...say...1995? But this all has more to do with fiction and less with toys...Powerbomb said with delusions of moderatorship... Face it, hasbro already has nest, and those guys from prime that Silas commanded... So I say, don't always rely on others if you want something done...DO IT YOURSELF!!! * Anyway, why don't we all chip in $100/200 usd (and by all, I mean every member of tfw2005**), and hire some Chinese factory to create 1-2(per member) tfw2005 third party transforming Robots versus Humans action figure set. Only available to members of this site...There has to be a toy designer/extoydesigner/artists/package designers/i.e. professionals... who are members of this site, who would do it for their fellow fans and/or for self promotion...? To get ahead...in their field... I envision a pair of Robots wielding giant 'Rotonesque' circular sawblades...slicing up helpless soldiers and marines. victims piling at their feet... Then the _________ Warriors enter the fray***. *Jonas Salk didn't find an inoculation against polio in a vacuum ...Sometimes you can't do it yourself... **There's a lot of us, right? *** Enter your own descriptive word where the lines are. I WAS FALLING ASLEEP WRITING THIS...SORRY IF IT'S INSANE/improbable!
As she was in 95 would be perfect, but have you seen her in the Picard trailer? I believe she could still easily pull it off. Ah, yes, this is the toy section. What would make the RAAT toys any difference from the titans return figures? Honestly, I think making a human group like RAAT, NEST or MECH could lead to some interesting ideas. They could be army building figures, with little humans with them. Maybe a baseformer (titan would be too big for a price point, but maybe a leader?) with a Circuit Breaker to lead them. The vehicles could turn into clunky mech suits the pilots could control. Come up with some crazy designs. Like the 07 movie came up with all those sector 7 toys.
Nope...I can't afford plastic crack and cbs all access. What about repurposed diaclone reboot figures? I've no idea the size of them, but from what I gather, they're tiny. Plus the modular nature of the bots, vehicles, bases would be interesting v.s. tf's. but expensive...damn things cost an arm and a leg for all you get...
I don't have cbs either (not available in the UK, nor would I get it anyway) but the trailers are on youtube. The diaclone line could work, but it would need to be a lot cheaper. Those guys are probably about the right size for the classics toys.
Yeah no thanks. Transformers is unique because it has aliens vs. aliens with humans just being caught in the crossfire. Having humans be able to go toe-to-toe with the Decepticons completely nullifies the Autobots protecting humanity. Any attempt by humans to fight a transformer should end in gibbetted monkey all over the pavement.
