Okay, there are cool luxury cars in the Transformers Movie. We have seen Chevrolet, Pontiac, Corvettes, and many more. Pretty awesome I believe, especially Movie Sideswipe.

However, would it be better if Michael Bay considered non-American cars? I'm not into cars, but I have seen several images of awesome cars that are not American. Below are a few models I have in mind.

Ninja Kawasaki



Okay, the third one is a motorcycle.. So basically what I'm asking is would transformers look cool this way in robot modes?

I guess it all depends on the car manufacturer. VW for example didn't want the beetle associated with images of fighting and war. I wouldn't be surprised if there are more Japanese and European cars for TF3. The state GM is in right now its possible we'll see more car manufacturers involved. I think the whole GM exclusivity is because GM agreed to promote the movie. I think it would be nicer for TF3 if they can get more exotic cars. It would probably be more kid friendly too with more supercars like the Pagani Zonda posted above. Its hard to resist a transforming Ferrari or Pagani, Lamborghi, etc.

I would say silverstreak because of the paint scheme. Looooove them Zonda-F, but I think convertible is even better.

It isn't so much that Michael Bay should consider using non-American cars, it's that non-American auto manufacturers should consider allowing Michael Bay to use their cars. The only reason every Autobot and their grandma is a GM car is because GM was the only brand that wanted to put any cars into the project.

In all seriousness, it would be nice to have some variety in the vehicles. There are a shedload of really nice cars that arent American, it seems unfortunate that they can only afford to use American. Ah well.

 

he should have a variety. If a protoform lands in Japan, chances are it would have scanned an Acura NSX, Toyota Supra or Nissan GT-R. Those are all aggressive, mean looking cars that would still look good in a Michael Bay movie

But you know Michael Bay is all about being "All American" rah rah rah

I wish there could've been some european supercars like a Lambo or a Ferrari though

Transformers as a brand may suffer because of the exlusive use of american cars. Almost every vehicle we see can only be bought in the US. The appeal (at least for me) of G1 was that you could in theory be walking down the street and see an autobot drive past you. There was something for everyone.

Now all we have is the latest bunch of small eco cars that no kid would aspire to own (I mean - even G1 bumblebee with his VW bettle has some appeal) - a scattering of overpumped muscle cars and a couple of typically american oversized trucks. The vast majority of TF fans will likely never see these vehicles in the flesh.

I can understand the decision for the first movie due to budget constraints, but with ROTF i'd be surprised if Bay had such harsh restrictions.

 

Don't worry, GM will probably be broke by the time TF:3 comes around so we might get to see some variety then...

C'mon, there are quite a number of Euro cars driving around in the US....and tbh I like the designs a whole lot better.

Looking at the Binaltech line - Hasbro obviously has agreements with some car manufacturers.

Here is on I think would look cool in this movie.

 

As somebody else said, it's not a matter of Bay wanting, it's a matter of somebody else letting him to use their cars.

 

I couldn't help it, but this car totally should be in a TF movie. I mean look at it! It just looks so happy!!  

 

if non-american car companys want to have their products in the movie, they'll go for it
but up until now there have been no takers. VW are out seeing as they don't want to be involved with "violent" toys(hence the lack of an alternators bumblebee) and most other brands have no interest.
i'd like to see a bit of the asian and european market of cars brought in, but i'd also like a solid gold toilet.
