I voted yes because this is a question you must ask yourself. Whats the big deal? Stop buying toys if some sort of conflict exists, otherwise continue to do what you enjoy. Its like John Madden Said...

Its a day that will come for us all...

It came for me several years ago.... I sold 80 to 90 percent of my stuff. Spent the money, had a good time! However, once I quit I realized this hobby brings joy to my life. I returned to the fandom and will stay as long as it continues to bring Joy, I won't stop.

Er, I think he's just offline and that he'll come back online as soon as he is able to respond to everyone else's responses.

He knows, he's just kidding around.

So, Ironhide2005...This is just about peer pressure? Dude, who cares about other people's opinions? If you like to do something, you ought to do regarless of what the people around you think.

But ultimately, this truly is your decision.

Do what you want to do.... Don't like or stop liking something for other people. If you think it's a problem for you to be collecting then stop. If you enjoy it then continue. In 1984-1986 I had shelves full of Transformers then I started slowly loosing interest. I put them in boxes and placed them in the attic. I went into the Army in 1990 and pretty much forgot about them. In 2004 I saw the Masterpiece Optimus Prime and some Alternators in a Wal-Mart. It was like 1984 all over again. My point is if you think you need to take a break from it... do it. The Transformers have been around for a long time..... They will be here when you come back.

Establish priorities then respect where the "fandom" ranks to you personally.

I will chime in once more and just add this....

If you decide to leave the fandom, I would strongly suggest that you do NOT sell or get rid of your collection. You may change your mind later and if you don't have your toys you are going to be highly dissappointed in yourself.

You know what? Maybe the fandom doesn't want you! Yeah, you ever think of that? Let's rip up his membership card!

Whadda ya mean "we don't have membership cards"? Ah goddamnit!

Fine. Do whatever makes you happy. :(

Dont let anyones opinion of something affect how you feel about it.

    EVER!

I like all kinds of stuff that people consider immature or childish and its taken some fighting to get people to understand that this is me and i'm not changing for anyone.

Now people respect my ability to stand out when it comes to peer pressure.

Screw what other people think. It's what you think thats important.

I'm 25 years old and I fricken love transformers. My family understands, my girl friend understands and if anyone I meet dosnt get it yet then they soon will cuz it's a part of my life I care about and i'm not going to waver just because "people are talking" or whatever.

Nothing worth having is free. You gotta fight for it sometimes.

At the end its your choice but I say you should stay, reading all the other posts I think most agree you should do what makes you happy, I am a partime accountant/ Collage student that still buys toys and watches Transformers cartoons, as long as it doesn't interfere in a bad way why leave. Practice what gives you joy, I hunt, it brings me joy, my ex girlfriend that I was evil for hunting, but that didn't stop me from hunting, It is some thing I enjoy so I continue doing it.

Well, I'm not losing interest in the fandom itself, but most non-Aniamted toys in the foreseeable future bore me except for Bludgeon, so I'm actually considering going to video games and Lego until the next TF series. In Fall.

I'm really beginning to hate ROTF...

More on topic, yeah, it's fine if you leave. some things don't stick with you as you get older. I kinda grew out of Digimon because none of the new stuff intrerested me. So, you're going through the same situation I went through. Eh.

As many have said it is up to YOU, but I would suggest a break, start a different hobby, see if that fills the void, if not, back to Transformers, and ENJOY them, don't be embarrassed or worry about what other people think.
Heck, as a woman I get asked who I'm buying my bots for and I proudly tell people its for me!! You should do the same. Its your money and time, as long as you take care of work, family or yourself, then enjoy your pastime, whatever it may be..TF or not.:2c:

You don't need to be any age to collect Transformers.
Who are the people that tease you and what is their hobby?

Sure, leave. If you're really concerned about what other people think why not give in to them, right? You're halfway there by starting a thread about it.

The way I see it, you already got about eight pages of friends that a majority of say the same damn thing: do what you love to do. You always got us to chat with on the boards and not one of us thinks it's immature or whatever to be a part of this fandom.

Take a break from Transformers for a little bit man and then hopefully you'll come back to us. But if not, find something else that fills the void and I hope you enjoy it just as much.

    Best of luck!
