so, i got my first beast wars 10th anniversary figure, waspinator...and hes great...but, i have the original release, the fox kids repaint, and the buzzsaw repaint, as well as the dirgegun remold from japan....im only about 15 figures away from every beast wars fig, but do i really need this many duplicates? and, im gonna buy the 10th figs cuz i like the paint, and want transmutate.......i just dont know which is better, a complete collection (im a former completist, btw) with the originals, or just adding the 10th figs in their place...what should i do?

Unless you are in financial trouble and need the money. Don't sell them. Having all the figs of one character is pretty impressive.

yeah, see thats what i keep thinking, but my collection is just so huge...i havent counted in like 3 years, but its probably about 1500 figures, and thats just my tfs...i collected heman, tmnt, marvel, star wars, and just about anything else i deemed cool...total toys is probably 2500 to 3000...i have like 35 white bins (approx 10 inches deep, 10 wide, and 16-20 deep...)filled to the brim, and i need at least 5 more to put away everything i have...hence my wondering...

My closet is filled with enough TFs that I have to stash the new toys under my bed. I have a small door in my closet that leads to a small space inside the walls and I've been putting a lot of boxed toys inside as well. If not for that space I may have to start getting rid of TFs I don't really like.

If anything I would keep the originals.

To me it's more impressive to display the originals than the reissues. Then if anyone wants to touch one you can turn them loose with the reissue.

As someone who still has his G1's from when he was a kid. Keep the originals. Not even reissues can compare to those that I have fond memories of. Weather they are exact copies or have colors closer to those of the show nothing compares to my originals. I am so glad now that I put them in a storage box instead of getting rid of them.

For reference I lost intrest after "season 4" and didn't get back into TF's untill a couple of years ago.

Wow. That's a lot of toys! Well... if you do decide to get rid of some of the original BW toys, let me know. I might be interested in buying or trading for some of them.:)

I got two big deep tubs filled with Armada and Energon figures. Also have all my Marvel Legend type figures in 4 smaller tubs that are 6.5 X 26 X 15. Three filled to the brim and one just started to be filled..

I have 8 or more tubs(stoped counting) just of my TFs, factor in a couple more of spares, another tub of the stuff that a friends holding till I get back stateside, and a few more I've trusted to the USN to get to me here without hoseing them I probably have a few more and I keep all of them, why because everynow and then I want to break out Optimus gimp, i got him for christmas in '84 he was 1 arm, shot legs, crome where, paint wear, joint wear and evrey possible wear known to mankind except underwear, he has trashed gobots, cunstructs, G.I. Joes and every other toy I have ever had, he has piledrived and been piledrived by megatron. and if I had to choose gimpy to a case fresh original G1 I'd take gimpy just because he has been there and done that and I will always have good memories of time spent playing with him. The old toys are not just clute, they are old friends. That said dear lord i want a new cheetor for my TM Rampage to eat.

I d say keep em, as the momories of an old toy can be worth more than the toy itself. Heck i still miss my beat to hell perceptor, cause he was cool. I remember thinking that the wheels on his arms could be buzz saws. SO essentialy, if you have memories of them, great, keep em, as they are way more precious than the money you are likely to get from open toys off ebay
