    my personal favourites.

Wheeljack: feels solid, interesting transformation, looks good in both modes.

Vehicon first edition: complex but not too annoying transformation.

Vehicon: simple and elegant transformation, nicely poseable.

First ed cliffjumper: Another clever transformation, bit fiddly but worth it.

There's some terrible ones, there's some bland ones, and then there are some that are genuinely great.

I'm not sure where the idea comes from that bad fiction automatically means bad toys. Revenge of the Fallen was a pretty terrible movie but I still love a lot of the toys that came out of that.
I also feel some designs that look dull and washed out in the cartoon work so much better as colorful toys.

First Edition Optimus, BH Ultra Magnus, Dreadwing/Skyquake, RID Vehicon/Takara Air Vehicon, Wheeljack, RID Cliffjumper are all well worth your money.

PRID Wheeljack and Vehicon are probably the stand out toys from the line.

I have also heard good things about FE Starscream but we never got them in the UK.

I agree with this but out of curiosity what are your other 2?

I thought the show was better then the toy line but as others have said there are a few figures in the line that are great and a few figures in there that are duds but that goes on in every toy line.

FE Bulkhead is one of the best transformers period. Wheeljack is also very good.

Possibly because the figures have their own merits as toys.

*looks at her still growing collection*

I regret nothing... okay, that's a lie. Only toy from the Prime lineup that I regret is Airachnid, and that's because you can look at her and tell that Hasbro didn't give a shit when making her. Which is a pity because I still like her as a character.

I'd say bother. I especially love my AM Breakdown.

Like any TF line, there are a few stinkers (Airarchnid) but overwhelmingly I find most of the figures launched to the Prime line to be awesome.

With maybe the exception of the Vehicon and Arcee the First edition line is gold.

I love the RID Magnus and Skyquake, not to mention how awesome the japanese Breakdown is.

You have to at least get a Wheeljack.

"should I bother with Prime figures?"

If you have to ask, then don't.

I love the toys and the show, but if I thought a piece of TF fiction was crap, I wouldn't want to be reminded of it all the time with toys on my shelf, no matter how good they were.

Why do we act like a bunch of pushers anyway?

    I feel exactly the same.

I hate Energon, so you won't see any Energon figures on my shelf, no matter how "good" they might be - don't want to waste money on reminders of things I don't care for. Collecting is a way to surround myself with my passions/likes/hobbies - I don't want anything in it that represents something (a character/book/movie/show) that I don't enjoy/love.

And any time you have to ask if you should get something, IMHO, it means you shouldn't.

Eh, I've found all the TV shows atrocious since Armada and I still buy the toys.

I've tried to limit myself on figures that have caught my eye, but still have 16 or so figures (and pretty much all the Cyberverse). Figures like BH Ultra Magnus and PRID Vehicon deserve a shot.

I don't know, even if I couldn't stand the Bayverse movies, I felt compelled to own a few of the toys if only because I thought they looked interesting enough on their own. I own Animated toys because I feel they're interesting to look at and pose, even though I have yet to see the entire show.

But to each his own. Even with how much I despise ROTF and DOTM, I still own a few of the toys if only because I liked how they looked (or in the case of Thundercracker, blind character loyalty).
