i was wondering about that, since there's lots of deluxe molds that seem perfect for this sorta thing, but the real point should be: should hasbro make generic weapons for future repaints/retools/etc. kinda like what prime cyberverse did once.

just too add some diversity with the discussed redecos, considering the versatile 5mm system seems rather common on most figures.

On a semi-related note, I've been wanting to see Transformer weapon packs for years now.

No. They should destroy their idea of minicons. Wipe them all from existence.

Then they can create Targetmasters like generation Cyclonus. I want a gun that looks like a gun, not like a piece of ****!

I would love having some generic weapons, especially for characters who don't actually have any weapons of their own (Classics Bumblebee, anyone?) I know weapon packs aren't as viable as they were back in the He-Man/TMNT days, but I would so buy some if they were released. Just some gang-molded pistols, rifles, cannons, and a few melee weapons.

I have no idea what the monkey you're on about, son. Time to put the coffee down.

I'd love some weapon packs. Pistols, rifles, gatling guns...

Let's even release some C-clip compatible stuff.

Dude, who mentioned minicons? Or Targetmasters? o_O

This. I'd love to see a subline about scout figures with tons of weapons for an armory. That or blind packed arms microns/target masters so that I'm not stuck with a limited supply of guns and stuff for my guys.

I gave my classics Bumblebee WFC Bumblebee's gun and never looked back. I even figured out that it can stored between his legs behind his windshield in car mode!

I would personally LOVE weapons packs based on the videogames and Transformers Legends. There are a ton of generic weapons and tools there as well as a bunch of signature ones. I would vote to have them be blind packed single or double and also sell gift set collections with special decos.

Blasters, rifles, cannons, bring on all the weapons of death. Seriously been wishing they'd go all He-man/Gi Joe with weapons packs since they introduced the 5mm clip system.

They don't have to go the Arms Micron route (though I wouldn't be against the idea), I just want the option of having some figures armed to the teeth without having to snag weapons from other figures.

As a customizer I would love weapon packs (I mean simple guns/swords, not spring loaded or mechtech), it irks me when I spend $10-$17 either on a figure with the weapon I want for my project or on a shapeways 3D printed weapon.

I think if they molded the basic weapons from the years generations line and sold them in 5 packs or blind bags for $5-$8 a pack they would do well.

I myself prefer "personalized" weapons, i.e. weapons that form part of the alt mode or fit the bot's theme or are Transformers themselves, so an entire line reusing a handful of generic weapons a dozen times over really wouldn't interest me much.

Thing is Hasbro aims to sell toys to kids first and foremost.

Think back when you were a kid... of the figures you still kept... how many of them have *all* their accessories? How many even have accessories?

I imagine few, if any, is the response.

That's why they don't make weapon packs.

I think the best you could hope for is a big figure that came with a lot of spare weapons. Like that AoE Optimus with the trailer that has some extra swords.

Just buy 10 AOE Hounds and you have enough firepower to kit out an army.

I think the weapon pack route was already explored by Hasbro with Star Wars. Back with Episode one they did a few weapons packs, I remember buying a Sith pack which had weapons, lightsabers, a mini probe droid and a cloth cape and while it was pretty cool, it wasn't worth the full price of a 3 3/4'' figure they were asking.

So I don't think that took off. Then they revisited the idea years later with that dice game thing packs. The figures came with generic weapon packs, a game card, figure stand/card holder and game dice. Those packs were actually pretty well stocked and even better, essentially free, but they didn't stick to it.

Personally I'd like to see more Minicon Targetmasters like Armada had,

Also I think Loosecannon meant Arms Microns, not Minicons. And I agree with that, a lot of Arms Microns weren't great.

    Replace the ones lost.

3P weapons (Dr Wu and such) are great but pricy. A Hasbro weapon pack would be ideal. Makes TFs more playable.

Actually retailers don't want weapons packs. They don't come with a figure.
