Now from the title this may sound crazy but hear me out. Many figures have suffered GPS and those are usually the expensive/rare ones that are sometimes hard to replace. So what if HasTak reissued the figures that suffered GPS with sturdier plastic? Or is that even possible? For example, HasTak could reissue Transmetal Megatron or G2 Slingshot but either fortify or replace the gold plastic with plastic that won't break at the slightest touch.

Now, if that isn't possible then who wants classics updates of the figures that suffered GPS?

I think some third party company should just resell just the gold parts in better plastic to replace the originals. You just pop them in where the original go on your toy. I have a Pyro and a Skyhammer that need some parts.

Although I've never first-hand seen the effects of GPS, I worry for my Beast Wars Grimlock.

I have a spare BW Dinobot to do a parts swap if it ever happens, but of course I'd need to paint some bits as well.

Problem with that is that that would require those figures to be popular enough to warrant a release. I could see G1 Scorponok (and therefore Black Zarak, which is a GPS sufferer) getting a reissue, so I can see that. I don't see figures like Dinoking or Roadblock or Skyhammer being popular enough characters to get a reissue though.

I'd be for it, especially with my GPS risk BW figures.

This. I would think it'd be a great opportunity for some of the higher-level folks running projects through Shapeways.

Rumor is Scorponok is the next Encore release. I could possibly see Black Zarak being re-released.

I would love for them to rerelease TM Megatron with the issues fixed. Sadly, that's probably never, ever going to happen.

Between GPS, chrome flaking, various other notable 'fatal' design flaws, and people constantly pointing out how they don't NEED updates, I'd like to see Beast Wars figures get reissued. Seriously, what's stopping a straight (well, hopefully fixed) re-release of Transmetal Rattrap or Megatron in Generations?

I think GPS victims should be the highest priority for reissues. Instead of gold plastic, use some other type of plastic and just paint it gold, so no one worries if the new plastic will have the same problem in a few years... even though there are some people who still ask if gold painted figures will fall victim to GPS.

For G2 Slingshot, all you'd have left is the chest and wheels! He's pretty much all GPS.

As much as I'd like to see some of the big names reissued as well as expensive/obscure Japanese stuff, I'd love to see GPS toys from any area take priority in regards to what receives a reissue. With GPS-affected toys, no amount of money you spend for an original will prevent it from breaking so a reissue is any fan's only hope to own one that won't fall apart on them.

Ok, thanks for the info. I only have a few of those TF's from that list but they are all misb, I wonder one day will they just fall apart on their own?

    Yes, they will.

People have opened MISB Black Zaraks and DEEPLY regretted it after what they saw.

So is it only the gold part on Black Zarak that does this? Not like I own one but I do own Scorponok, wouldn't the regular G1 Scorponok have the same issue or they made with different plastics?
