OK. This just occurred to me. Crosshairs shares the corvette alt mode with Sideswipe. Crosshairs was characterized as a badass and a bit of an asshole. Now I don't remember G1 Crosshairs ever getting a lot of character development, but I sure don't remember him having those character traits... but you know who did... Sunstreaker.

So really I kind of wish Sideswipe had made a return and Crosshairs was instead Sunstreaker and we got some cool badass warrior brothers sibling rivalry type scenes.

Don't get me wrong I loved Crosshairs. Just kind of think it would have been a good place to bring in Sunstreaker and bring back Sideswipe and give him some more character development too.

Crosshairs and Sunstreaker do fit each other, I agree.

But I'm okay with them not making him Sunstreaker. If they had, I also, would have wanted some brother moments with him and Sideswipe. And that might just make more stuff to add into an already full movie.

 

I completely agree with you. Crosshairs just screamed Sunstreaker to me. To see him, Swipe, Drift and Hound kicking aft together would have been awesome.

Meh. I never got what was so amazing about Sunstreaker and Sideswipe being brothers. And the whole 'they have the same alt mode' thing was kind of dashed to pieces by Red Alert being more like Sideswipe's twin (not to mention all the other repaint/remoulds who would've made more sense being siblings).

 

Off topic here, but why do you always say "aft"? Is that a typo? You know you can say ass or a**?

 

He was originally to be called Slingshot if y'all remembered.

 

Also a fair point but I'd argue that it is because writers have never really explored these characters (as a duo) very much. I think in the Dreamwave story where the Autobots went to investigate the town the Insecticons had taken over they got some interesting play. And Sunstreaker has definitely gotten some screen time with IDW.

But my take on the duo was that in my mind Sunstreaker should be so freaking cold blooded and deadly and ruthless and an asshole that he is more like a Decepticon than an Autobot. Sideswipe is the more likeable one. Not as nasty as his brother, and not really as good a warrior as his brother but Sunstreaker's loyalty to his brother is probably what keeps him on the side of angels more than anything else.

I don't know. Ever since I was a kid I've always thought there was a lot of untapped story potential with these two even before I knew how to articulate what untapped story potential was.

 

It's not a typo,lol. I didn't want to get in trouble for using the other word excessively. I tend to swear like a sailor and I know there are young fans on this site, too. So, I tend to use the word 'aft' instead, since it's kind of the Transformers version of the word ass.

I think he should have been sunstreaker as then we could have seen his reaction if it had been sideswipe we had seen be killed as it would have made for a great character moment with him screaming in anger and swearing revenge on sideswipes killers

 

Crosshairs and Sideswipe both are very cool! They both are badass and possibly fans of westerns! (Crosshairs two guns and coat remind me cowboy) It will be very funny to see their rivalry! And I believe that Sideswipe(as Ratchet and Wreckers)will alive.

I could see Swipe and Crosshairs arguing who looks the best in Corvette mode. I can also see Swipe and Drift comparing their swords and techniques. 

 

For some reason Crosshairs reminds me more of Whirl.

Sunstreaker should be self-obsessed an vain, like Tracks except more of a sociopath. It's his thing.

 

If anything, he reminds me of BW Rattrap. Snarky cynical jerkass with a heart of gold.

I think Crosshairs could have worked as Sunstreaker though his deco is problematic.

 

He is like HFTD Highbrow

 

If that's true then why to most fans here don't really like Crosshairs if Rattrap is liked for having the same kind of personality?
