    Hi all,

Was hoping to post this in the sightings thread but that didn’t want to happen so I thought stick it here and someone can move it if needs be.

So I’m heading state side next month to spend a few days in New York, specifically Manhattan Island. You know the standard touristy places, time square things like that and was hoping to do some shopping while I’m out there. Last time I went I found Toys R Us and FAO no problem but can anyone else suggest any other toy caves, as I was rather disappointed by what was offered last time.

    Many thanks.

I'm fairly disappointed every time I go toy hunting in Manhattan... If you find something good let me know....

When I'm really desperate I will go to Image Anime.

I live in Manhattan, and there is sort of a dearth of good toy places. There's a place a few blocks away from me (Union Sq.) called "Forbidden Planet," on Broadway btwn 12th & 13th. The Toys R Us in Times Square usually has a pretty deep selection of stuff. If you're going to go to Midtown Comics, I find that the location on 40th St and 7th Ave has, generally the better toy selection, but your results may vary.

Forbidden Planet in NYC was pretty good when I went. A hell of a lot better than ours over here mate.

For current retail toys, don't forget the Toys R Us on Times Square.

Image Anime carried a good selection of TFs every time I went, mostly Japanese. If you have the time then check out the TRU Express/Outlet in the Manhattan Mall, it'll sometimes have some decent offers/older stock that we missed over here.

I'd imagine that any store you're going to buy in at NYC is going to be extremely expensive. I do realize you're from the UK, but if you're looking for retail stuff, wouldn't just ordering online be easier?

Of course, I'm speaking that you're only going to NYC to buy TFs of course...

Compared to the price we pay here i'm telling you paying US retail would be a blessing lol. I could order online but there is something to be said about that feeling you get when finding something in stores
