This is what I was itching to see... the surprise attack on Ultra Magnus from the one and only Shockwave. The aftermath was so "shocking" I'm guessing that the battle was very intense. Overall done with traditional pen & inks over my pencil work 11"x 14". This was a fun piece to do. Also HUGE thanks to Derrick J. Wyatt for such a unique spin on the characters and story that we all love so much. I had a great ride, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we haven't seen the true end of Transformers Animated. It's neat, but why is Shockwave so tiny? He should be a couple heads higher than Ultra Magnus. Cool art though.
Chalk it up to practice.... I had Shockwave drawn to scale in the prelim sketches however using this view, he dwarfed and completely covered Magnus. So I scaled him down to make him more critter like and deliver the overall attack. Guess I'm on the D team, with random scaling issues. Wait until you see my 60' Sari!
