I hope this is the right place and way to do this but I desperately want a voyager sized Shockwave and I’m so torn between the SDCC Shockwave Lab set and the stand-alone Siege figure. Does anyone have both or can provide a comparison? Is there another option? Mostly looking for something that photographs well, looks good with FOC Soundwave, etc.

    Thanks

I'd say it depends on if you want more G1 accuracy or a more stylized rendition of Shockwave. The SDCC version is a repaint of the Beast Hunters Shockwave, has pretty limited poseability (no ankle tilts, large gaps on the ratchets, etc) and is larger than the current scale, but if your pairing him with WFC Voyager Soundwave that would work pretty well, I guess.

I'd still go for Siege myself, but G1 is my jaam.

Siege is just a solid figure all around. I don't even like the character that much but that is a figure I always find myself fiddling with.

Siege all the way. Or better yet, TFP Shockwave & Siege GalacticMan Shockwave

If it's any consolation I sold my TF Prime Shockwave once I get the Siege one. Siege is nearly perfect in what I wanted in a Shockwave. The Prime was was certainly a good figure, just not as good as the Siege one was.

Siege one for sure. Prime is okay for the time but the wide ratchets in the hips, limited articulation at the time, weak joints really makes it an overall inferior figure to Siege. If you don't dig the G1 aesthetic then, sure, go for it. But if you want a GREAT Shockwave and are okay with G1 then get Siege.

The SDCC Set only comes with a small Shockwave, doesn't it?

    There's really no comparison...

Siege Shockwave. Galactic Man if you want a black deco version.

Problem is price. Shockwave himself is a terrific Voyager sized figure. Unfortunately, his accessories and leader class pricing caused him to shelfwarm like crazy.

Not sure if Ross even had Siege Shockwave.

Hasbro's eBay account has him on sale for $42.49 and free shipping atm:
Transformers Toys Generations War for Cybertron Leader WFC-S14 Shockwave Figure | eBay

Best Shockwave is MP29+. The + is for the second version with the better deco.

Thank you to everyone who replied, after watching every review I could find I ended up going with the SDCC one since I got a very good deal, I just couldn’t get past the price tag on the Siege one for what it is. All the stuff Siege comes with is great but for me, it’s superfluous and really doesn’t justify something that should be at the Voyager price point imo. After thinking and considering it far more than I’d ever care to admit I also felt the SDCC version fit better aesthetically with what I wanted

    Thanks

Prime's Shockwave is his best design so far, but I had him (4 times lol) and the toy just doesn't work, the articulation is super limited, almost 5POA, his legs are bricks, the waist/knee joints are useless, the shoulders are pretty loose, his hand is useless too, he looks amazing in a neutral pose, but that's the only thing that you'll get, I hope that APC upgrades the mold because the design is amazing

I own both the Shockwave's Lab set and the Siege Shockwave. Beast Hunters Shockwave is a great design on a terrible, terrible figure. The lab itself is kinda neat, but I'd go with the Siege (or the Galactic Man repaint) hands-down.
