I just wanted a decent larger-than-deluxe Shockwave, so I started working on one. And now he's a duocons...with himself! And he's his own minicon/targetmaster! He's also a little dusty which I didn't really pay attention to until I was finished with pictures. Oh well. Note: This was inspired by someone from /toy/. They deserve the credit for the idea. Little remained of the once-senator in the aftermath of his near apocalypse, but a glimmer of his spark remained in the rubble. With his unique, clinical determination Shockwave rebuilt himself from the spark up in the ruins of his own demise. But his spark was unstable, fractured by a tear in reality he himself created. In order to maintain his fragile state, his spark is now split between two separate bodies. Shockwave is now twice as crafty, twice as hard to permanently put down, and twice as dangerous.
Looks awesome! I had a similar idea in the CW thread, just with a Shockwave from Cyclonus... I got called weird for it. Anyway, it's really good! I wish I owned that mold so I could make my own.
Thanks guys. I worry there's too many different colors going on, although some of that is exaggerated by the pictures. CW Shockwave is closer to the rest in color than it looks here. I may paint over the big body's chest (although one of the leftover green chests, not the nice red/pink one) and make it gray like Shockwave has sometimes just to take out one of the colors since the two pinks don't match. I was considering painting his eye yellow, but the green light piping just works so well.
He wields... HIMSELF! Hilarious, but brilliantly designed. I also have a Shockwave with a broken arm... and just got the G2 Action Master Legends... HMMM. I need to find the broken figure and do this. Great work! TBH I like this idea that was used for a 3rd Party MechIdeas Jazz => Shockwave upgrade Kit had for the character. They called it "Empurata by-proxy." In it, the description details that Shockwave could transfer his will onto another body... either to control it, or to basically save his own hide. Think of Sigma from the X-series, or even Braniac of DC notoriety. Frankly, I could see Shockwave use his know-how to keep himself alive at any and all costs... even have clones to do his work.
Ive often thought it would be cool if Shockwave was like Brainiac in that any small part of him could replicate into the full thing, and that's kind of what I was thinking with my description. Or that he's actually replaced his body with a bunch cybertronian nanobots. Thanks! And you should, he's a great figure regardless.
It is weird but in a good way! Fantastic work, I think with the modifications you mentioned, this could be a brilliant custom!
Awesome! I agree it could be a bit more cohesive color-wise but still a great idea and execution. Nice work.
I've got a spare from the G2 Bruticus set that I'm not sure what to do with, if you're really interested.
